Taliban announced graduates from madrassas would receive diplomas based on 3 levels: advanced, intermediate, & beginner. Under Taliban’s new certification system, students can obtain a religious education certificate equivalent to “Mullah” in eight years

From November 2023 to February 2024, a Taliban-reported 2,464 students graduated from Taliban-registered madrassas, including 128 female graduates, the first time the regime reported such figures since seizing control of the country
