Incredibly proud of our players, especially the seniors. I am extremely blessed to have coached them. Good players / great people who gave it everything they had. A scoreboard can’t define what they mean to me.
It is tough being a leader. Every decision being made right now by governors and school leaders is being questioned and criticized because the decision may not be good for THEM. THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU! Don’t act like your personal hardship is more important than what is best for..
#lightupIA
We miss all of you! Hopefully we will all be back running track and playing soccer under these lights this spring, playing softball and baseball this summer, and on this field again in the fall!
Between losing sleep from playing Fortnight for hours, juuling, and vaping among other things, there are a lot of things keeping teens from reaching their athletic and academic potential... YOUR decisions now affect OUR success later. MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE.
I often tell my players/coaches to control their 90%
-10% of life is things we can’t control, but we control how we respond to that 10%
-Right now that 10% is hitting really hard and turning lives upside down.
-THIS IS EXACTLY WHEN OUR 90% MATTERS MOST
Unbelievably proud of our guys last night. Down 20 and coming back to win..... GRIT / FINISH. Now all of us just have to keep finding ways to get better.
My heart goes out to all of our spring sports and activities participants... especially seniors. There is no way to get back what has been lost, but there can be a bright side. We all can begin to realize how lucky we are to do things we often take for granted. I know that the...
Good win over a quality opponent last night. And I want to congratulate
@BHRVfootball
. They always play extremely hard, their players display excellent sportsmanship, and their coaches are good men and role models for their players. Class act all around!
What a gutsy effort by
@SBLhoops
. Battled the entire way. As a Warrior. I am very proud of the coaches and players on this team. Great run-great season.
Really proud of the fight our guys showed last night. Lost a tough game to a really good Webster City team, but gave everything they could until the final whistle.
I am extremely thankful to have the opportunity to coach all of you.
Congrats to
@dericfitz
on the following school records: Receptions in a Season (78), Game (15), Career (155). Receiving Yards in a Season (906), Career (1,663). TD’s in a Season (9). One of the best slot receivers I’ve seen in high school football.
Great game by
@SBLhoops
tonight. They won on the scoreboard by 7. But because of the class of Coach V and our players, we won by a landslide in all the things that TRULY matter.
From sophomore year to senior year I was blessed to play for the town of Sergeant Bluff with my best friends. Thank you
@SBLWarriorFB
for everything❤️Thank you Sergeant Bluff, I gave you my all as your QB.
Really proud of our team this year. 8-3 with all three losses to undefeated semifinal teams. They gave it everything they had, and for that they are champions in my mind. I want to give a special thank you to our seniors. Great group of young men who had a positive impact on all.
Great win last night over a really good team. Now the key is to get some rest, eat right, and hydrate so your bodies can recover and be ready on the short week. Take care of yourselves so we can take care of business.
Fun game last night for sure. Our guys never gave up. The joy you experienced in the end is what all of that work can give you. It’s not ever guaranteed, but it never happens without it.
Very proud of our team tonight. Got down early to a very talented team and fought back to within 1 score. Showed some fight and desire, and we will get better. Get some rest, watch film, and let’s get better on Monday.
Game day tomorrow! I have never been more thankful for an opening night. I am coaching not only for my guys this year, but for all of the players and coaches who don’t get the same opportunity we do. Incredibly blessed!
What we ask our athletes to do all year at SBL is hard work, but I hesitate to say it’s a “sacrifice.” We get to work hard to play a game. Real sacrifices made by people such as those who fought on
#DDay
should never be forgotten so we can appreciate the hard work we GET to do.
I am so grateful right now.
@SBL_Baseball
and
@SBL_Softball
are playing. Summer workouts are going strong. We just had
@sbl_boys_soccer
in the state tournament. Last year at this time we weren’t doing any of this. Please realize how fortunate we all are to be healthy and active!
Congrats to
@Dan11Wright
on breaking the following records: Passing Yards in a Season (3,000), Career (7,030). Passing TD’s in a Season (32), Career (78). Passing Completions in a Season (248), Career (536).
@SBLWrestling
Great point. It amazes me how much of Siouxland still views
@sblpride
success as a fluke. Our kids are working their tails off in the classroom and on the field/court/mat/track. They are earning everything.
Wrapped up another season with the banquet tonight. I LOVE THIS TEAM AND COMMUNITY! Always hard to let the seniors go, but always excited to see what we can continue to build. Special thanks to
@dave_croston
for giving so much time and effort to our young men. You,ll be missed.
Just turned in equipment. Sad day always to see the seniors walk out of that room for the last time as SBL football players. But man, what a GREAT group of young men. Small group (9) but major impact! Their positive influence will be felt for several years.
Not the way we wanted to send our 2020 seniors out, but congrats! The seniors who played Warrior football, and the young ladies who helped us as managers, definitely left a positive and lasting mark on our program.
THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you to all veterans. Especially to the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Please, take a minute today and reflect on the freedoms we have that have been made possible by those who have served.
Tough loss last night in a classic high school football game. But we are ready to go support
@SBLWarriorVB
as they play for the state title!
#WarriorNation
After a lot of thought and consideration, I am excited to announce I am now COMMITTED to the University of Wisconsin!! Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen. Badger fans, LETS GO🔴⚪️
I want to thank all the coaches who gave their time to help our athletes get better this summer. Many schools don’t get coaches to commit, & that may be why many of their athletes don’t either. Championship caliber programs require commitment from everyone & we have that here!
If this is where you want to be, control what you can control. Get better every day.
- Eat right
- Get enough sleep
- Compete / Push limits
- Be a good teammate
Lost a tough one, but like all year long, the guys faced adversity and kept fighting. Never gave up, never gave in. I’m proud of all of you. Thank you seniors for 4 great years.
Really proud of our guys tonight. So many kids made plays tonight, and we needed all of them against a very good CLGR team. Enjoy the win and back to work Monday!
Great day to be a Warrior! Many programs will benefit from our new turfed field. Thank you to all the business who have pledged donations and to our school board for recognizing the need to move on it.
Great group of young men in this senior class. They have done a great job of becoming mentally, emotionally, and physically stronger over the last 4 years. Proud to coach these guys!
Congrats to Cory Bates on being named 3A District 1 Defensive Player of the Year. Small man, BIG GAME!!! Pound-for-Pound toughest kid on the field every night.
Congrats to
@CarterShoe2
on setting the school record for TD’s in a Season (9). He also broke the old record for Receiving Yards in a Season (852), but not quite a record because it was also broken by Fitz.
Felt great to be on the field, under the lights with our guys! Good scrimmage tonight to tune up for game 1 next week. Get some rest, watch and learn from film, and come ready to work Monday.
So proud of our guys tonight. Down 3-13 at halftime, came back to force overtime, and got the win. Played with toughness and intensity. Team and Toughness win tonight!!!
Happy Mothers’ Day to all of you Warrior moms! Thank you for cheering, washing uniforms, making meals, and giving your time. You have an immeasurable impact. My mom saved money all year so I could play football in the fall when I was a kid. I wouldn’t be coaching without her!
