It wasn’t a great start to the day for this curious 🐨 who got his head stuck in a fence at our Happy Valley substation. A big thank you to Fauna Rescue SA and our St Marys crew who released the Koala and took him into care for a check-up before his release back into the wild.
Following the ongoing storm event, we have 80,000 customers w/o power. Crews will be working over the next 24-48 hrs to repair the damage and restore supply for customers across the State. We have recorded more than 423,000 lightning strikes since midnight and winds up to 106kmh
Yesterday, we restored power to the last of the customers who could safely be reconnected after last week's storm. Over 163,000 customers were without power with an enormous restoration effort across the week. A big shout out to everyone who has helped us respond to the storms,
Crews are still busy in the
#CUDLEE_CREEK
fireground. Xmas & today we continued our restoration efforts. Just six customers remain w/o power. We’ve made incredible progress over the last six days, under challenging conditions. Fallen & burnt trees continue to be the biggest risk.
Our crews have been working to reduce the number of customers w/o power from 163,000 down to 35,000 at 7am. We are aiming to get the vast majority of power back by the end of tomorrow but there will be customers w/o power into Wed, where significant damage needs to be repaired.
A massive effort overnight with crews able to restore power to another 12,000 customers (from 23,000 at 7 PM last night). Crews from Essential Energy in NSW have arrived and are on the ground and ready to work alongside our crew to rebuild and repair the network.
Thank you for your continued patience and support following Saturday’s storm event. We've had asset inspectors and other operational leaders assess the extensive work required to rebuild the damaged network and or reconnect power.
We are grateful for the support and generosity of spirit shown by the community of
#KangarooIsland
to our crews over recent weeks. It has not been lost on our staff that often those who have lost much have given so much more back. Today we would like to say
#thankyou

Great news! Even with 45C forecast, data from the Australian Energy Market Operator shows SA will have sufficient electricity to meet demand tomorrow. This means the need for any load shedding is unlikely. However, should AEMO issue a direction to reduce demand we must respond.
Our crews are working to repair damage and restore power to customers following yesterday’s extreme weather. Falling trees, lightning strikes and high winds resulted in widespread outages reported across the State from the far west through to the eastern border with NSW and Vic.
We have mobilised all possible resources to rebuild and repair the network and restore power. This work will continue potentially well into Tuesday. Customers without power should plan for an extended power outage.
When approached by
@hsiaustralia
to rescue a koala our crew were happy to help. Using an elevated work platform & bringing it down safely to receive treatment. Our workers have seen much devastation to the local flora & fauna & helping the surviving wildlife means a lot to them.
This is the biggest network outage event since the 2016 State-wide blackout, and we have mobilised all possible resources and called in interstate field resources to assist with the storm response.
Our CEO Rob Stobbe today thanked all employees for their efforts since bushfires began in

last week that clearly reflects the scale of the event and the rebuilding efforts required.
No surprise we have seen storm related outages. About 128,000 lightning strikes over SA between midnight and 12 noon today! Crews are working across the State to restore power.
All customers have had power restored after wild winds swept through Adelaide impacting over 100,000 homes and businesses. Thank you for your kind words for our hard-working crews and support teams during the outages.
Our crews have had a busy 24hrs! We attended 290 outages across the state in extremely difficult conditions. We're doing our best to restore all outages as quickly and safely as possible.
There is still a severe weather warning for damaging winds for parts of the state.
If clouds are your thing, this pic of a tornado-looking cloud out near Cummins is pretty impressive. 😮🌪
Unfortunately, it did bring bad weather and outages, but these have since been restored. 💪🏼💪🏼

Our focus has been community & crew safety in fast changing & dangerous bushfire circumstances & today, given the threat to Kingscote, we have moved crews & equipment to Penneshaw to ensure their safety & our ability to mobilize all our resources once the situation eases.
With another catastrophic fire day, strong change and dry lightning forecast for Monday we will again be monitoring weather conditions and responding as needed. Once again, be prepared for the potential for the loss of power in these conditions. Stay safe SA!

We have called in interstate field resources to assist in reconstruction and recovery. With nearly 500 reports of wires down it is a massive job to investigate these wire down reports and ensure they are made safe.
That big storm is on its way with destructive winds potentially gusting over 90kmh and 125kmh in some areas. These winds will delay work to restore power, so it’s best to be prepared. Charge those phones and keep a torch handy 💨📱🔌🔦

We're expecting severe thunderstorms across the state. Strong winds and lightning can cause damage to our network bringing down wires and stobie poles - usually caused by falling trees or branches. We have crews 👷♀️👷♂️and support staff 👩🏻💻👨💻ready to respond if required.

Due to the rapid escalation of weather and fire conditions we're now disconnecting power to Port Lincoln to ensure community safety. We will restore power when safe to do so. Restoration updates available 👉
Tomorrow on ANZAC Day, we remember those who fought for our country. 91 employees of the Adelaide Electricity Supply Company - as we were then know - went to battle from 1914-1919. This board is housed in the Sir Thomas Playford ETSA Museum in Kurralta Park.
Our crews have made great progress and we now have less than 100 people (who have not suffered damage and can be reconnected) without supply in the Cudlee Creek fire zone. Crews will work until dark tonight and be back in the fire grounds tomorrow to continue reconnecting power.
This week our crews will be working across

keeping the power on, completing both essential maintenance & responding to emergency outages. Give them a wave if you see a team, but remember to keep your distance for the wellbeing of everyone.

If your power goes off, turn off all appliances and leave a single switch in the ON position so you know when it's been restored. Turn appliances on gradually when power is back. Updates:
SA's iconic Stobie pole, a symbol of ingenuity and resilience in our state, turns 100 this year. The first pole was installed in the CBS on South Terrace in 1924. Today, more than 650,000 Stobies help us share energy across an area of about 180,000 sq km.
As the River Murray flood nears its peak, we have around 4000 Stobie poles and just over 400kms of powerlines standing in water.
Help us keep the power on for as many as possible by observing the ban on all non-essential on-water activities along the river.

Today our crews continued rebuilding the network on KI restoring power to customers in Vivonne Bay & reducing the number of homes/business without power by nearly half. With advice from the CFS our restoration efforts are on hold tomorrow due to the weather conditions escalating.
Our crews are working to reconnect power to customers. We have a taskforce assessing damage & organising full restoration of power to customers whose property and/or business has been impacted. This will be a lengthy process due to the extent of the damage.
Stobie pole art that celebrates Indigenous, Indian, Kazakh, Italian and Australian cultures has been installed around Keswick. A group of staff volunteers drew on their cultural heritage to create the vibrant art.

Latest estimates indicate about 163,000 customers have been affected by outages since a storm hit at 10 am yesterday. Less than half are still w/o power. We have had crews working across the State to rebuild the network and make downed lines safe for the community.
Across SA, there are currently 63 outages affecting 10,000 customers. As wild winds continue our priority is getting power back on as safely and as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience. For more info visit:

Due to the large number of faults rebuilding and repairing the network and restoring power will continue potentially well into Tuesday. Customers without power should plan for an extended power outage. 👉🏼 For 👉🏼
With two storm fronts crossing the State in the next 24 hours, we have put additional resources on standby. Wind gusts could be up to 100kmh and may result in fallen trees and downed power lines. Stay clear of these and report them to us on 13 13 66.
Severe wind gusts are continuing to cause significant damage to our network. This from Marion Rd, Mitchell Park. Traffic control in place. Avoid the area and take care.
