We don’t just emit 1%. We outsource our emissions to places like China and India. They do the messy manufacturing in our behalf. We still use the goods they produce and so part of that emission impact is on us as a nation.
The true emission impact can’t be measured…
I really don’t understand if the UK only emits less than 1% of the Worlds Carbon Emissions why are we actually even considering doing anything at all. We don’t need to. It’s up to other countries to do their bit as we are obviously already do ours. It’s still all a scam anyway.

I get that, but this will presumably then lead to a carbon tax, which like the ULEZ charge will not affect the wealthiest who just carry on as normal flying their jets round the world etc
No wonder many of us are not on board with the dubious climate story

It’s not dubious, it’s well evidenced and with clear to the eye impacts already happening.
Taxes should focus on the heaviest users with protections for those in low and middle income.
Tax profits where companies hide the true carbon cost, make private jet flights carry a higher…

Corporations basically forced us to use petrol, plastic, ruined public transport, monopolised energy...now they want to force us to change again, at the peoples expense. They are creating the disasters that frighten us into paying for it, while making record profits.

Climate change is based on cumulative CO2 emissions, not yearly percentage. So we would still have a lot to answer for.
Even 1 % doesn’t mean we can just do nothing, we still need to get to net zero. Plus renewable energy is cheaper, and less emissions is better air quality.
