The people did not give Fatāwā saying ‘this is Ḥalāl and this is Ḥarām,’ but they used to say ‘I do not like this, I do not do this...,’ and that was enough for people.”
And: “They did not say Ḥalāl and Ḥarām except for what is in the Book of Allāh, Exalted.”

Exactly 530 years ago was the fall last Islamic rule of Al-Andalus in Granada.
This day reminds me of the famous poem by the Andalusian poet, Abu al-Baqa ar-Rundi about the fall of the last remaining cities of al-Andalus.
Here is some lines form the poem:

Imām ibn Hazm adh-Dhāhiri al-Andalusī رحمه الله said:
"How beautiful is silence in matters of great sensitivity?!
How many people have we witnessed being destroyed by their speech, yet we have never seen anybody who was destroyed by his silence."
[Rasāil 1/403]
Imām ibn Abd al-Barr al-Andalusī:
”They should not prevent the youth, if he knows something, from speaking about what he has knowledge of. Perhaps a person may be young in age, but an elder with regards to his knowledge. And Allah blesses whom He wills through wisdom and mercy.”
The name of this village is Al-Kawthar and is located 15 km from the city of Granada
The land was purchased in the 1990s to revive and educate Muslims in Spain
They also do activities such as swimming, archery, horse riding, etc.
They really live like the days of Al-Andalus!
I just started to look into the life of this big shaykh from the land of Senegal.
He lived a life of struggle for the sake of Allah for calling people towards Islam and to abandon sins during a period of colonization.
He was strong and firm on his faith during many trials.
An old man in Morocco only gives one bag of food in help after the earthquake. May Allah reward him with good.
Anything helps for charity even if it’s little.
My Shaykh, Sufyan who is Portuguese once told me a statement that was really amazing.
Along the lines of:
“Only Allah knows how many non Muslims are waking around Spain and Portugal and have no idea that they are direct descendants of the Prophet (ﷺ)”
SubhanAllah how true!!
