2023 is drawing to a close with the weather cooling. I set a goal to get to 30% of the men in four counties near me. Currently +50%.
These are the 33 men that I visited and whose markers I have cleaned this year.
I could walk you to each of them right now.
Took a little drive to visit these three men today.
All had deep biological staining so I coated with bio cleaner and will revisit in the spring after the elements have had a chance to work. ๐บ๐ธ
In my search for Clarence at Floral Park section K-11, I did locate three additional Vietnam KIA.
Took pictures, will log their GPS to findagrave, and will plan on a cleanup.
Ray Brown of Mission Restore Bronze took care of Thomasโ marker in 2020. Just needs a cleaning. ๐บ๐ธ
SSGT Steven Wayne Heitman, Indianapolis IN. Missing in action South Vietnam, March 13, 1968. 56 years ago today. He was 24.

Found Paul Speaks at Cedar Hill, Newark, OH tonight.
In veteran's section, had no clue where he was buried. Lucky.
Died same day as John Croy (Elwood, IN), possibly from same mortar shell. ๐ข
Sprayed marker liberally, back in spring to finish (hopefully).

SP4 Robert A Hagan Jr was KIA in Vietnam on Oct 23 1968. He is buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson IN in the veterans section 8.
His headstone was in nearly impeccable condition, very heartening. Just removed some excess bacterial growth and placed a fresh flag.
HM2 Larry Jo Goss from Marion, IN died in Vietnam on (or after) Feb 14, 1968. His body was recovered on March 20, 1968.
He is buried at Estates of Serenity (IOOF) in Marion, GPS (40.53647, -85.64015).
Marker cleaned July 5, 2024.
RIP Doc and Semper Fi. ๐บ๐ธ

Resprayed his marker, very nice improvement since my February visit ๐บ๐ธ
Another map location request has been received/fulfilled from a local cemetery. Planning on visiting these three men in the next week or so, tributes and pictures to follow soon.
