I can get very riled up, upset & angry over this issue and have done in the past, simply because? My attempts to be calm, educate & polite always fall on deaf ears. I’m exhausted, but I need to keep trying. I’m asking you, not to break the code of conduct of a convention, nicely.

Hi! Don’t film in the headless lounge, If you did? Delete the footage or at least don’t post it. It *IS* against the convention rules, regardless if the room is empty or you didn’t film/photograph anyone who wasn’t yourself. It is harmful behaviour and encourages others to copy.

I’ve emailed into conventions about this being a repeated issue and with suggestions on how to improve education and signposting about the issue? Which has gone super well! I highly suggest always feeding feedback to a event. However, I won’t shut up about it here either.

I understand & respect the argument that sharing: β€˜this person broke the rules!’ Can come across as sending a hate mob after someone. Which is not my intent surprisingly. It’s more to showcase: don’t do this/be like this person. Because reaching out individually don’t always work

But I’m trying to remember? Furries are not a monolith and politeness first is always a preferable step. I’m doing my best to give that energy again, but it’s difficult, because I shouldn’t have too. Nor do I really want to, these actions hurt me and made me feel unsafe.

The headless lounge is a changing area. As well as a space away from the rest of the convention, to remove fursuit heads in a safe place. The headless lounge is frequented by people using these costumes to express themselves? They need to feel safe to do that.

Many furry convention attendees are queer. LGBTQ+, transgender, gender non confirming and for many? There fursuits, costumes reflect a expression that they can only achieve at these events. To feel comfort in one’s appearance that they don’t usually have. They need privacy.

Moreover? People, regardless need privacy! Not just the obvious of changing clothes, it’s also just not wanting a photo of yourself without your head on taken, which is exactly why you have moved to a private room to do that. Privacy is expected from these spaces.

Even if there’s nobody in the room at the time? It still removes a lot of the safety from that space being a completely no cameras zone. It’s also, a rule. Of the event. You are attending, so you have to follow it. Same with all of the code of conduct. It’s non optional to follow

I want? Need to feel safe at furry cons. At any con! Everyone deserves that? Everyone needs that. Your video in front of UwU big fan puts that at risk & I won’t be chill about that. Please, be mindful of your surroundings. Use some critical thinking & don’t take that photo/video
