Green Fields Market is the only grocery store in walking distance to downtown Greenfield. Now, they’re hoping to expand to a larger building with the space to offer more locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables. As I told those in the room, I’m all in!

Our criminal justice system is broken, but the Liberal Arts for Returning Citizens program at @ClarkUniversity is a beacon of hope, giving those who were formally incarcerated the chance to take free college classes. Congrats to their students who worked so hard this semester!

My friend Donald Payne, Jr. was a man who respected his colleagues and respected Congress as an institution. He was decent and kind—he stood up for his district when it mattered, and he fought hard for those who struggled. I will miss him.

Veterans deserve the very best our nation has to offer, and that includes safe, stable housing. I plan on working closely with the nonprofit Clear Path to help them transform an old convent in Leominster into housing and supportive services for veterans who are unhoused.

In Leominster, I learned about the fantastic work the South Middlesex Opportunity Council is doing to tackle homelessness. I will do everything I can to support their latest effort to convert a former motel into permanent supportive housing for our most vulnerable neighbors.

. @RepMcGovern and I successfully halted a proposed @usdaRMA apple crop insurance policy that would've hurt New England growers. Now, we’re urging the agency to continue to work with growers and ensure their concerns are taken into account when designing crop insurance policies.
