On this Independence Day, I hope you celebrate with family and friends to cherish the freedoms we often take for granted. Always remember the sacrifice of our military service members because our country wouldn’t be the land of the free and the home of the brave without them.

The House is dedicated to making it easier for businesses and employers to hire and keep their employees. I commend @AnthonyDaniels for working to eliminate the overtime tax on hourly wages, and I look forward to seeing @GovernorKayIvey sign this legislation into law soon.

The Alabama House advanced @AnthonyDaniels ' bill this week that would allow Alabama workers a tax exemption for overtime pay. This legislation would support small businesses and help Alabama families take home more of their hard-earned income. #alpolitics

Mr. Peters was a true pioneer in Alabama's political arena and leaves behind a legacy of service that will stand the test of time. Most importantly, he was a man who loved his family deeply, and I'm proud to have been his friend. My prayers are with his loved ones.

My grandfather, J. Elbert Peters, passed away earlier this afternoon. He was 90 years old. We are proud of the life my grandfather lived, we are thankful for the influence he has had in our lives, and we are assured we will see him again.

Our nation was attacked without provocation 82 years ago today. Join me today in remembering those who perished at Pearl Harbor and the men and women of the Greatest Generation who bore the burdens that allowed us to win World War II.

The first half of the 2024 Session has been one of the busiest and most productive of my time in the House. We're going to carry this momentum into the remaining days and continue delivering results to the people of Alabama.

We often fail to recognize the sacrifice our law enforcement officers make when they put on their uniforms and badge. Today, honoring them for their service to our communities and our state was a privilege. We’re always praying for you, and especially for your families.
