Beating A&M with a QB throwing for 100 yds is a testament to Heupel’s coaching/system/offense. Not a knock. The Vols being 5-1 heading into the Bama game despite the offense taking a clear step back is a great sign for the longevity of the program. Gotta weather roster turnover.

Finding ways to consistently win in spite of obvious problems and inconsistency on the field is a testament to his coaching ability. We may not win 10 games this year, but the program as a whole (especially defensively) is moving upward

Adapt and evolve…… play the style of football your roster makes. It’s a championship formula. Tennessee plays a team next on the schedule that has done that very thing for 17 years. Seems to work okay.
@ReedCarringer
Offense hasn't taken a step back, it is just a different offense. The goal of games is to win them, and with the Florida exception that is what they are doing. We have to stop comparing to last years team. This one is different. Coach recognizes that, adjusted and still winning.
@ReedCarringer
He's gotta continue winning with "his guys". Nicos gotta be a dude and we probably need a WR or 2 to step up.
But agree, these 50/50 games where neither team is playing great are games we usually lost. Heupel is winning them. He's not perfect but he's got something cooking.
@ReedCarringer
100% agree. Hendon Hooker was more special than almost anyone thought. I like 7, but I really want to see what happens with Nico next year.

From the recliner……Joe seems more accurate/comfortable under 20,so love to see more TE,RB,WR short/mid stuff.But stay away from mid & deep middle. Also wonder if when going deep, if he’d be more accurate on posts vs flys?He just can’t see to get the right distance/loft on flys
