Just wanted to tell everyone what is going on. I went to see a specialist in Boston today and he recommended I have surgery to correct an issue with my vocal cord. I will have the surgery next week and will be out for about a month, starting with today’s game and radio show.

I saw his first pitch and his last pitch and most of the pitches in between and he was the greatest relief pitcher I’ve seen. In fact, he might have been the best pitcher I ever saw. Today, Mariano Rivera takes his place as part of forever in Cooperstown. Congrats, Mo.

I think it’s tiring when losses are blamed on umpires calls because there is so much that goes on before and usually after but the strike 3 call on Odor was inexcusable and disgraceful. To make that call on national TV in the bottom of the ninth is ineptitude at its finest.

Consider this: Judge misses a third of the year, Didi essentially misses two months (one injury, one couldn't hit). Montgomery out for year. Chapman DL, zero production out of Bird, Gray Ineffective, under .200 by Sanchez, projected 3B doesn't play. = 100 wins. Remarkable.

Please remember this: the Yankees treated a player, ARod, who was suspended for a year and threatened to sue them and the sport 1000x better than the Giants today treated an organizational icon in Eli Manning. Frankly, it is mind boggling. Mara and Tisch should be ashamed.
