I think there's a whole "misled into enlisting based on government misinformation and militarization of patriotism" that could work, but yeah, it's not apples to apples for sure.

You know whatβs funny?
I just read a great feature today following a medic in a war zone and told the writer βno oneβs done this MASH sorta concept as a series but in contemporary terms.β
A few tried and failed I guess. Hard show to pull off.
But maybe this is a sign. π

That might actually be interesting. You know what's crazy to think about? Hogan's Heroes came out around twenty years after WWII. I can't imagine anything like that coming out nowadays about the Uraq War.
@RWWFilm
Was legit thinking about this a couple nights ago, discussing the very few TV war comedy seriesβ¦feels like it would be almost impossible in the current climate, but maybe necessary?
@RWWFilm
There actually was a π¨π¦/πΊπΈ TV series set in Afghanistan called Combat Hospital. Not literally a M*A*S*H reboot, of course, but in spirit (it was hr long eps. but mixed comedy and drama, like a later-season M*A*S*H).
