For nurses week my former hospital had a taco truck during lunch for the nurses. They only had two people working it for thousands of employees and THEY MADE THE NURSES PAY FOR IT

@RNSuperHero It also sounds like your staffing situation doesnโ€™t allow for a nurse to leave the floor for a break anyway

@RNSuperHero Classic Nurse's Week stunt from admin: Making you pay workers who are severely understaffed for your thank you food.

@RNSuperHero I really think hospital admins must hate nurses. Itโ€™s like they are competing for the Shittiest Nurses Week Celebration just to mock us. Winner probably gets a free trip to the Bahamas or something.

@RNSuperHero Sorry to hear that. My hospital had Taco Truck this week. There was a line, but they had pagers so you could go back when order was ready. It was free to all staff.

@RNSuperHero At our hospital, I guess we are supposed to appreciate them now? And instead of our unit providing meals every day we are having potlucks. Yay us!

@RNSuperHero @SkyBlueRN My friendโ€™s hospital did absolutely nothing for them other than bring in a scrub company that charged them more then what they usually pay. I made him a gift because he deserved one.

@RNSuperHero For Hospital Week, at the beginning of our shift we had โ€œan awesome Fiestaโ€ on the floor below us during med pass hours. The โ€œfiestaโ€ had chips and salsa and non-alcoholic margaritas. Thatโ€™s it.

@RNSuperHero As a reward for the hospital getting through the 1st wave, they had a festival. Clinical staff weren't allowed time off, and the 30 minute lunch breaks weren't enough time to even queue at the singular food truck.

@RNSuperHero Sometimes, Itโ€™s all about the superficial gesture. Would you perhaps like a hospital system logo tote bag or water bottle instead?
