On question of the future of Apple Cup: “Seven home games is part of the economic model that UW has to have in order to be in a financial position to succeed.”

Someone else also pointed it out but saying you have to have seven homes games to succeed financially when you just leapt to another conference for a "bigger payday" is sure ... something.
AND you filed a motion to dismiss (mostly because of venue) a lawsuit that seeks to prevent you from demolishing the conference to strip for parts and pay your moving costs is, again ... something.
I am and though Power Five schools do get a hefty chunk of their budget from ticket sales, a good deal more comes from their television contracts. Of which I've been assured UW's will soon be better.
So ... what's the problem?
Oh right: it's that UW is borrowing against future Big Ten TV earnings because they owe balloon payments on their stadium remodel starting next year so in addition to payday loaning their way through the next six years, they're also taking a half share of $31 mil.
That $31 mil is **less** than the Pac-12 will distribute this year if we don't account for the Comcast overpayment, which is still one of the dumbest things ever.
So ... UW actually REALLY needs to maximize revenue! And the new guy just admitted it!
But this is better.

If you play the game as a home and home, as WSU would prefer and as UW implied they be cool with two months ago, no money needs to change hands!
@RM_Preston
Wanting 7 home games makes them a villain? Would WSU accept the apple cup without payment? Lets not be obtuse here. Why would UW pay WSU to play the apple cup (which has been suggested) and then also travel to Pullman?
