This would be unendingly complex for all the non-rev sports but invite your chosen teams for a 2026 join, make sure all the Pac-12 checks clear between now and then, and spend the time negotiating a TV deal?
I'm talking myself into this.
And yes, you would need a notable-ish TV partner but I've got very good news: unlike New Mexico St. who indy'd for a while before finding a home **you own an an entire Damm television network**.
It wouldn't be ideal but if you had to, put everything on the Pac-12 Network.
It's just comically difficult for the non-rev teams. You've got to schedule 20 games for soccer, 30ish for both basketball teams, 50 for baseball. You don't get the benefit of conference games for two years.
For football anyway, it leads to a two-year barnstorm which is incredible. We just parachute into cities we've never been to, drink all their beer, and leave.
This is just a cursory look at and it's not perfect but ... this is really not bad if you can manage to talk everyone into it.
2024 will be tough but there's quite a few teams with openings for 2025.
Again, you've got to find somewhere to essentially stash every other sport for a couple of years but if you can ... man, it's REALLY doable.
Another again: no TV partner for your home games isn't great but you can lean on the Pac-12 Network.
@RM_Preston
Would this be how us and Oregon State ultimately could get our hands on the Pac-12 Network?
Because that’d be basically your one chance at getting in that conference.
@mrtommygman
You gotta be the "last man standing" for the network so yeah. And if FSU/Clem move, ACC probably doesn't dissolve so if Big 12 wanted to expand, we're the option.
