On 13rd May several RuAF fighter jets & choppers were shot down in Bryansk, Russia. Among the 9 pilots & crew members killed, at least 2 were veterans of Syrian war: - Captain Vasilievich, Mi-8's senior flight engineer-instructor - Captain Valerievich & Senior Su-34 pilot.

Another Russian pilot (Mi-28 attack helicopter) who bombed Syria was killed. Major P. Alexandrovich was the Deputy Commander of the 487th Separate Helicopter Regiment. Possibly the pilot of the Mi-28 which crashed in Crimea on May 12. Thks to @ban_elem .

Russian Colonel O. Pechevisty was a Special Forces commander & operated in Syria since last December to carry out special tasks. He was killed 2 nights ago in Syria. Highest-ranking Russian Officer slain in the country since Summer 2020. Thks to @guteniev .

@med0rian On 24th June, Wagner shot down a RuAF IL-22M airborne command post over Voronezh, Russia. At least one of the 8 dead was previously deployed in Syria (2018). Lt Colonel Milovanov was commander of the aircraft & Dep. Cmdr of 610th Center for Combat Use. Also flew on A-50s (AWACS).

On monday, the former commander of Krasnodar submarine was shot dead while jogging in Krasnodar, Russia. Under his command the submarine fired Kalibr cruise missiles on Syria (Palmyra, 2017) & is accused of Vinnitsa massacre, Ukraine. Thks @med0rian .

Andrey Sergeev was a Russian TOS-1 operator. He fought against Syrian Rebels early 2020 on behalf of Assad's forces. He died on 19th October in spectacular blast after his "Flamethrower" was hit by a Ukrainian FPV drone (Avdiivka front). Thks to @med0rian .

Major Zhigulev is probably the 1st Russian Officer who served in Syria killed by an ATACMS strike in Ukraine. He was the Head of an Engineering Service of a Ka-52 Squadron & likely died following strike on Berdyansk Airbase, which neutralized several Ka-52s. H/t @KilledInUkraine .

@KilledInUkraine Sr. Lieutenant A. Demin is currently the Russian Officer killed in Ukraine with the most recent (known) deployment in Syria. He left the country in May 2023 after an unusually long stay (16 months). Head of a UAV Unit, he died in region of Zaporozhye 3 months after his arrival.

This plane (RF-93966) gathered Intelligence for months in Syria to coordinate RuAF airstrikes. It fell in Azov sea with its crew incl. the Lt Colonel commander (pic).

On 22nd December 2023, Ukraine shot down multiple Russian Su-34s with Patriot missiles. Another pilot killed in that strike is identified: Captain K. Vyacheslav was a very experienced one (500+ combat sorties) who bombed Syrians before Ukrainians.

Colonel M. Magomedzhanov is the highest Russian ranking-officer from Dagestan to have been killed by Ukraine. He died on February 14. He was the deputy commander of the 18th Army. He was awarded for his combat missions in Syria. Thks @med0rian .
