Had a great conversation with a MLB pitcher today, loved this takeaway..parents pay attention.. he said “No 10 yr old will be the best 14 yr old, no 14 yr old will be the best 18 yr old and no 18 yr old will be the best 24 yr old. Train for long careers! Late developers ⚾️
Converted OF DJ Peters showed off an explosive mid 90’s FB (95mph) average of 21” Vertical break and a disgusting slider averaging 18” HB today 😤 Only one ball was fouled off, struck out every hitter 🤢🤯
I like to use this occasionally when an athlete needs some feel of how to stay back and rotate on time. It’s an easy way to get them reset and understand how rotation plays a huge roll in throwing. I have seen it work great with youth and advance throwers

Here is a another simple concept I made for to get the concept of how the body can move separately of the arms but give the illusion everything is moving. It’s a way to get a pitcher to be patient while body builds energy around it. What a difference made w/ spacial awareness
A lot of people misunderstand a few things why arm paths are important but one misconception that comes up is how short Joe Kelly is, at full speed it looks much shorter than when you actually slow it down. He is on the short spectrum but not as much as you would think 💡
Sometimes video text messages are best, I had a Pro reach out this morning asking about he can improve his lower half. This helped him out a bunch so maybe it will help you. For way more content and much better editing and audio 😉 go to
Ok I’m showing how I tap into the 🧠 on how a pitcher can train to not only throw hard but also learn how to throw accurately hard 💪 you will love this when you try it!!! This is something I started doing called the “1 MPH bullpen” and it’s become insanely effective 😤💪

Here is a look at Joe Kelly doing a couple

drills used to prepare the arm to throw a bullpen. It’s one of my favorite ways to prime the arm sequence and get some dynamic hip and shoulder separation.

I have studied literally millions of throws and the top pitchers have this in common which is why I POUND it in their minds at every age 💪 PocketWhipStick
I was lucky enough to have him as my Instructional League coach, taught me this slider, I went into AA that next season and by June I was striking out Vlad Guerro in the MLB 💯 Not a game changer a LIFE CHANGER 🔨🔥 #🐐LHP
I get a lot of DM’s from pitchers in the league that ask for more detail on my posts so instead of texting back and forth I will just video my thoughts and send them. Here is one I did a few days ago for a pitcher.
Instead of constantly pushing “Intent” “grunting” “velo slaps” “run and gun” No shirt BP” to throw fast I have always gone the other way first and learn to be relaxed, under control, technical, sequenced and fluid to throw fast as easy as I can and as late as I can

Easy to use drill for holding posture and power in your lower half. I make sure to set the slider close to the end of the slope and on our mounds we have a couple inch drop which allows slider to drop and get out of the way of the landing. A lot of positive feedback for lower 1/2

So true!! It was the ONLY reason I was able to square a ball up on him 🙈😅 He walked be next two times and then my luck ran out and he struck me out the rest of my at bats ☠️ and I still knew what was coming 🤢
This is one my favorite drills for creating smooth coordinated movements 💡💪 Looks easy but it’s one of my first tests to see how athletic a thrower is 🚨

Tragic news about coach Altobelli, his wife and daughter. Thank you for changing the lives of so many players, gave them a new sense of success and energy. You helped so many! You helped them continue their dreams. I trusted you with my players. Appreciate our friendship

Ihave a stud LHP every year who has just been under the radar and colleges just haven’t noticed yet. They are frustrated that they don’t have an offer yet but as I have explained to the ones before him who have all gone on to be winners later it’s just a matter of time Kody King
People chasing a 2 year career and I’m trying to teach them to train for a 20 year career!! It’s harder than you think to convince kids and parents 😬

Ever wonder why you shouldn’t wrap your wrist? 🤔 Seeing as many throws as I see daily over the last 10 years you start to see trends 💡 saying don’t do it, rather being able to say “why not” is a huge advantage 💪 Throw

I can officially make the announcement now that I received a phone call from Upland High School Athletic Director Bo Whieldon last week telling me I was nominated to be inducted into the Upland High School Hall of Fame 💪💚
It’s been a while and a lot of hard work, long hours but all worth it to be back in my own spot! Yes we will have our PFA weight room, PFA Strong Academic room, PocketPath Research and Development and of course the best Coaches in the country teaching pitching, hitting and LIFE
Great look at how the
@TCU_Baseball
@kirk_saarloos
staff have improved certain players by using PocketPath. TCU and Kirk have always been great at identifying windows of improvement using PocketPath. Best staff 💪🐸

Riding the glove w/ ball too long on takeaway is a big cause of flying open or body to far forward on release, most only think of it as a mound fix not a catch play fix💡 Here is a simple tool to try 💪 Feedback immediate

I’m always looking at pitching in the eyes of a number 1 or 2 starting pitcher with more than 5 years of high level consistency. Here is one of a few windows that tend to pop up. From my PWS Advanced Pitching library. Long careers should be every pitchers goal
#PocketPath
I had one of those “my job is cool moments” yesterday I had back to back pitching sessions with a MLB Allstar starting pitcher and a 12 year old just trying to be a starter on his LL team 🙏 Coolest part all three of us learned from each other 💪⚾️❤️

I did a quick video for a coach on the east coast this am and thought this section could be useful for a lot of players/coaches on how I train the basic early stages of sticking landings and having body in the right position to become a “Human Catapult” 😤😜

How about this for history repeating itself 😂 Mark McGwire calling timeout on me again about 15 years later 💪 Thank you
@truediamondscience
and the team for today! Amazing round table with one of the Greatest Power hitters of all time and all around great dude 💪🍔

Just because you hear your friend committed and he plays on a different travel team, doesnt mean you picked the wrong team or the wrong tournament. Don’t jump ship, honestly evaluating what you need to do better individually is a much better thought process 💡💪

I use this trick🤔 goal is for the thrower to be able to visually see how fast they are going compared to myself (you can do this with or without a throw) Its an example of how to be patient and allow your body to sync up 1st then produce effortless but powerful throws
Sometimes you just got to improvise with what you got and where you are. Pitcher couldn’t feel how he was moving across body and causing him to cut the ball every time. Used the curb and it corrected instantly

As a coach no matter if you are at the beginning, middle or the end in the development of a player you should be proud of the progress the athlete accomplished not worried if you get recognized for it 💪🔥

Calling the baseball community to help! I have seen a very high rate of success with this YIPS 🫣 hack I started a while back. I want to have more give it a try today because of its success. So, if you or a player who is struggling with it, give it a try and leave me feedback.
With all these new rules in

happening, how can I get the stat “Error Saved” for 1st Baseman’s added for picking bad throws in the dirt? I mean can there be a more under appreciated play?? I think it’s time to bring one of the most obvious and important stats to Baseball.

I look to the lower half for weak links if an athlete is constantly cutting balls or flying open. To often we look to the upper half only but I bet this may help a few of you out there💡 Stronger athletes may get away with this for a while but not long 💪

I have always hesitated on making our own travel ball teams but judging by all the support and texts I have received from college coaches I look forward to helping bring back

I appreciate all the support and now that so many have started using the PocketPath I’m going to give a few tips how to maximize the use of it. I appreciate all the texts and emails on how it has changed players for the better after just one use 🙌

I had a MLB executive point out that PFA has trained 12 Day One draft picks in the last 5 drafts, all from a relatively close area....what do you think it is? ........The water 💧 😤💪😜
