Nursery PM. We have been learning about the Sikh festival Hola Mohalla. This festival last for 3 days. The children saw people riding on horses and doing Martial Arts.

Tomorrow at the Walk for Rob, One of the fundraisers we will be doing is selling raffle tickets to win a Leeds Rhino shirt that was designed by the Burrow children. All money raised tomorrow will go in to our Just giving page. Thank you.

Year 4 have had an absolutely fantastic day in Whitby! We have found some incredible fossils on the beach. Right now we're just having some time to chill out before we refuel with some yummy food! More pics to follow.
This morning in assembly we were presented with ยฃ500 worth of books from the library as we were 1 of the top schools in Wakefield for completing the summer reading challenge. A massive well done and thank you to the children and families.

Nursery AM. The nursery children have come to school dressed up as book characters for World Book Day. We have had a great morning doing lots of fun activities.
Year 4 have spent the day exploring Whitby, boarding the Endeavour and having a little walk on the beach. All this, whilst battling the elements! โ๐ง

Today we have said an emotional goodbye to the amazing Mrs Pike who has worked at Orchard Head for over 30 years! We wish you the happiest of retirements Mrs Pike, thank you for taking such good care of all of our pupils over the years.
Mrs Carr has completed another 3 miles tonight for our sponsored 'Walk for Rob' for MND. All the staff are enjoying participating in the sponsored walk too. Thank you so much to everyone that has sponsored so far.

It was fantastic to see so many from Orchard Head paying their respects at the Remembrance Parade in Pontefract today! A special thanks to our two Year 6 representatives and their families who accompanied Mr Grogan and Mr Reynolds and laid a poppy wreath at the memorial.

Reception have had a wonderful morning at the library. We completed a workshop 'On The Tiger Who Came To Tea'. We made masks, enjoyed the cinema and even met a tiger!

At 11 o'clock, classes at Orchard Head observed a one minute silence on the playground in preparation for Remembrance Day. This gave pupils an opportunity to have a quiet time to reflect on those who have given their lives or have been impacted by war and conflict.

Wow! What a night! Orchard Head performing in the Young Voices choir with 5000 other children! All of their hard work paid off as the lights came on, and they sang to their audience at Sheffield Arena! They were all stars!
A morning to remember... Sports day 2022! We are so proud of all of the children in year 3 and year 4 who gave their best efforts in both track and field events!

Happy International Hedgehog Day. In October, a hedgehog (we named Orchard) was found looking very unwell. She went to a hog-spital in South Milford and staff raised ยฃ250 for her care. This week, she was finally well enough to be released back into the wild. Good luck Orchard!
Year 4 finished their Whitby visit with a chance to tackle the 199 steps one last time, spending money on a souvenir and finally getting on the coach to start our journey home. See you all soon.

The Council Road Safety Team did a School Gate Parking initiative this week, tackling inconsiderate/illegal parking outside school.

A shocking crime has happened at Orchard Head! Someone or something has sneaked into KS1 and eaten all the snacks. The culprit also ate poor Mr Grogan's lunch!!
3/4HB had a fantastic morning at Pontefract Library! They enjoyed listening to poems, designing front covers and sharing stories. We even played chess!
