I used to be scared to say it but not anymore. I know what I want. To use technology to aid diagnosis and treatment of neurological & psychiatric conditions.
Bonus: collaborating with other passionate people on this quest
I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Thankful for the awesome people I get to solve problems with & the opportunities for growth that present themselves daily!

I’ve spent the last 2 years recording brain & physiological activity; exploring the relationships between attention, addiction and behavior (in the context of productivity so far)
build it and they will come 🫠
It is what it is though. This time last year I was contemplating quitting MSFT to build Fusion. Now people use it daily & that counts for something.
There’s lots to do so. We’ll keep swimming 🏊♂️
Another anniversary 🎉 Time really does spend itself!
Grateful for doing the things I used to dream about & looking forward to what lies ahead.
For now, I’m off to enjoy my vacation 🤪
Built a realtime emotion recognition application using

Best part: All predictions happen right in your browser so your image is never sent anywhere! 💥💥💥
Huge congratulations to our colleague Dr Adenike Ogundipe who told us at the

Made it to an MSc student's lab to record my brain activity and ECG while doing visual imagery (imagining visual actions) & imagined speech tasks.
They hope to use the data to improve algorithms in BCI applications for people with Locked in Syndrome!
Jan 2018, I was on my way to visit
@codebeast
. They stopped my Uber ride, asked me to come down, went through my phone (messages, pictures, apps, everything).
This person doing this had an AK-47 on his lap pointed at me.

One thing we knew from the start is that there's no one-size fits all approach to managing your wellbeing.
From our conversations, it's clear that people want recommendations based on individual context.
We just launched

One of the best aspects of building a startup is that everyone has advice for you.
Conversely, one of the worst aspects is that everyone has advice for you.
Saying “no” because you don’t have the bandwidth for something you’re interested in is hard, but I think it’s a skill worth building and can forge a path towards growth.
@castillo__io
Loved the neural music demo & the fact that the music adapts based on realtime brain activity!
Also glad that setup time for Notion is almost non-existent & the flexible electrodes too. It’s great seeing iterations on the design from v1
Can’t wait for mine to ship! 💫

Looking forward to deploying it and improving patient outcomes. 🎉
lmao these people are so confused that they're being held accountable. Looking for leaders instead of having an open conversation on what you need to do and be doing it.

Interesting tip: If you want to stay up-to-date on research in a particular area, look for "meta-analysis" papers. These papers analyze different approaches people are taking on the topic and summarize the findings for you. So you don't have to do the work yourself :)

Just fed ChatGPT a snippet of my "lab notes" from this week. It summarized them well and churned out some sound advice!
Sure, I could've told myself this but it helps when you hear it from a different source :)
onboarding the first person to fusion today for collecting eeg brain activity over time and correlating with health & productivity signals.
beyond elated!
One of the things I struggle with is finding a balance between ‘reading’ & ‘building’.
I don’t think they’re exclusive. I actually believe they feed each other but sometimes I get stuck feeling that I need to read more before ‘just building’ even though that’s largely false.

I'm buzzing right now! Was just walking a customer through analysis of their resting state EEG recordings and we observed a significantly reduced absolute power during a session compared to other days 🤪🤪
