Low key; M.I Abaga introduced Flavour to a wider audience with "Number 1".
Many non-Igbo speaking music followers first came in contact with Flavour via his guest feature on

Olakira's "In My Maserati” should be supported whole heartedly by Nigerian media and press.
Not everytime we jump on and hype popular artistes or artistes housed under big record labels.
We should stop this cultism culture.
Do not be deceived, nobody can out sing Yemi Alade in the Nigerian music scene.
A vocal powerhouse, and what makes it better is the fact that she has total control of her instrument.
Artistes and record labels would be doing social media giveaway to create a generous outlook but would fail to pay producers, engineers, dancers, publicists, songwriters etc. 🤡🤡🤡
Mayorkun definitely has the biggest African hip-hop song of 2020 with
#Geng
He brought the big guns for the remixes.
Topping this would be almost impossible.
In Nollywood, just blow up on Instagram, movie scripts would be entering your email.
Many talented actors are not getting deserved roles because they are not social media famous.
Apparently a lot of people do not know that
@Selebobo
is popular audio engineer Mixx Monsta.
You can hear his tag on hit songs from Wizkid, Davido, Flavour, Phyno, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage etc.

Shey the song wan lost?
Most of Mayorkun's singles are viral hits before the official release.
Case point, "Bobo", "True", "Geng"... even his next single "Of Lagos" is already burning up Triller.
Selena Gomez & Rema have modeled what collaboration should feel and look like.
It is a partnership and not a favour, not to be treated as; "I am giving you an opportunity".
It is essentially recognizing each other's value, and respecting it regardless of star power, age, genre,…
Record labels and artistes can be funny.
You will spend N2,000,000 on a music video, N200,000 on photoshoot & artwork, N500,000 on production and audio engineering but will have ZERO budget for marketing/P.R/promotion.
Are you not stupid?
Johnny Drille, Simi & Ric Hassani are indications that record labels need to stop investing in the same tired "afro-pop", "hip-hop" & "highlife" artistes everytime... Try fresh and daring sounds for a chance.
The greatest flaw of
@MI_Abaga
's music career is "lack of visuals".
Uncle, how the fuck does "One Naira", "Fast Money, Fast Cars", "Number 1", "Nobody", "Wild Wild West", "Blaze", "Teaser" etc. not have music videos?
@MI_Abaga
HOW?

Emerging Nigerian artistes would be horny for Apple Music playlisting without reasoning.
You pay $300, your song gets playlisted. After 1 to 2 weeks, the song is removed from said playlists.
What next? Use your head!
Dear emerging artiste, your Instagram is not an art gallery.
Use it to aggressively market your craft.
When you become Wizkid or Tiwa Savage, you can start curating art.
Dear artiste, management is not a record label.
There is a huge difference.
If your management spends a few coins on your craft because they can afford to, be extremely grateful and thankful. Do not be entitled.
Dear artiste/record label, a manager job is not to "bring shows".
I was talking with an executive today, and he said he got a manager and the agreement is that he will bring shows for the signed artiste, who is unknown.
Already set up to fail.
I had a mild debate today, and I said I would bring the topic/question on here to get a wider view.
Is Wizkid still the global poster-boy for Afro-pop?
For
@OfficialNiniola
; "Maradona" is the gift that keeps on giving. Imagine the biggest artiste on the globe,
@drake
requesting your song on radio 📻
@1Xtra
In my opinion, I think Wizkid is still the global poster-boy for Afro-pop.
Nonetheless, there are very solid and critical facts that rival this opinion and they cannot be overlooked.
"SoundMan Vol. 1 is not poor, but it’s still mediocre music that conveys no excitement. Wizkid has gotten stuck in the gyre of ‘familiar music’ tailored to radio, and he needs capable hands to help him get out of it." -
