A native of Utah, Jim Garfield landed at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales on a football scholarship. After his graduation, he coached at his alma mater for seven years, then Garfield followed his head coach for a coaching opportunity in the Lone Star State.

A native of the South Plains and graduate of Texas Tech University, Bryan Gerlich replaced the Frenship ISD's first full-time AD, Kenny Catney, in 2022, after Catney's retirement.
Melanie Hinson arrived in the Southwest ISD more than 20 years ago and in 2011 was hired as Assistant Athletic Director. She also serves as our Region 8 Director. It's difficult to find an activity or tournament in the Alamo City where Melanie isn't involved.

A native of Owasso, Okla., Rob Davies stepped in to the role in the Harlingen CISD after Randy Cretors retired in 2019. Before his arrival in the RGV, Davies had spent 28 years as both a coach and athletic administrator.
