Telling an Officer that getting shot is "What you signed up for"...
Is just like telling a Domestic Violence victim that she signed up for beatings when she got married.
When people criticize police officers for not showing sympathy and compassion, they are demonstrating their own lack of compassion for what Police Officers do and see on a daily basis and the coping methods they've developed over the years.
It's a sad day today in Columbus, OH. Every fatal traffic crash is a tragedy, but when we lose someone who dedicated his life to serving his community, it hits particularly hard.
@10TV
Meanwhile,
@MayorGinther
used this as an opportunity to call for gun control. Last time I checked, 13 yr olds aren't allowed to have guns under current law. All he's doing is trying to distract the public from the reality he created.
I went to my 1st
@capcityfop
meeting tonight. I never thought I would be a Union guy, but today we find ourselves in an interesting position where politicians are making dangerous decisions and someone has to stand up against them. The best place to do that is with the FOP.
The deputy was at the correct address, knocked and announced LOUDLY. Roger Fortson knew a police officer was knocking and he still came to the door with a gun in hand. If the deputy hesitated, he could have been killed.
This is the reason Jason Meade is on trial. Because
@GaryTyack2020
wants to fulfill his campaign promise of charging police officers. It has nothing to do with the merit of the case. Everyone involved with this prosecution should be ashamed of themselves.
@MayorGinther
this is the kind of stupidity coming out of your Civilian Review Board. Its an absolute joke that these people believe they'll ever have any power over the

Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein is one of the weak men creating hard times for everyone else. If he supported the proper punishment for people who commit "Property Crimes" like car thefts, citizens wouldn't feel like they have to take justice into their own hands.
Today is the day! Step off time is 4pm at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park. We'll finish tomorrow at the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial in Sunbury. This journey will take between 16 and 18 hours
When I was a kid, we were told, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."
Now we're being told that simply disagreeing with someone equals hate and "silence is violence".
The people pushing this cannot be allowed to control the narrative.
I just heard a "Domestic Violence" call dispatched over the radio. The caller's 4 year old child was harassing them and stabbed them with a phone charger. This was a real call and officers were really dispatched.
Watching the slow steady demise of our society is painful.
A couple of Palestinian Activists shut down another
@ColumbusCouncil
meeting tonight. This is the second meeting in a row that I know of. This is what happens when you have a history of being weak and caving in to people who disrupt the public peace.
Man with a broken glass bottle charges police officer and is shot. The officer did great job anddemonstrated hi training. It's unfortunate the guy didn't give him any other option.
Since
@MayorGinther
's
@digcolumbusgov1
doesn't know what Reasonable Suspicion is, I made a little cheat sheet. These are taken directly from the OPOTA lesson plans. You can't tell police officers they're wrong if you don't know how the officers were trained.
@BrianSteel_

@GLFOP
this needs to be addressed. This type of malfeasance cannot be allowed to happen without serious repercussions. Sustaining a complaint like this can ruin an officer's career. Everyone who had a hand in this needs to be removed from their position.
One of the biggest predictors of success in children is impulse control, or willingness to delay gratification.
There has been a movement in the US for years telling people to immediately act on their impulses. This is having severely negative consequences on our society.
Good thing the arrestee didn't complain. The officer would have gotten in trouble for using this language towards a guy who got beat up after calling a bunch of black people the "N" word, and threatening them with a machete and a noose.
Should we be more concerned that he wasn't able to defend himself against a dildo attack, or the fact that she was using such a dangerous weapon on herself? I hope it was clean 😬
The majority of the people accusing police officers of misconduct and saying cops aren't doing their job...
Don't know anything about police work, the law, or the rules police officers are told to follow. The
@ColumbusSafety
CRB and IG
@digcolumbusgov1
are perfect examples.
Two things: 1) They always say they didn't do anything. 2) Push button start causing officers to re-evaluate how they remove uncooperative drivers from vehicles. We used to reach in a turn the key off. Can't do that anymore.
@KateWSYX6
@wsyx6
You would think that an attorney would know that you are granted a jury of your peers. So the jury is supposed to be made up of Jason's peers. Regardless, what this clown is asking for is a firing squad of Casey's friends.
How does a citizen file a complaint against the
@digcolumbusgov1
for filing a false report against an officer to sustain a trumped up charge of Biased Based Policing? The official report from the IG's office says this person is black.
@kenkeebs
@ColumbusPolice
Officers are making fewer arrests because they're afraid that if they make a mistake
@MayorGinther
will run a smear campaign against them and push for criminal charges like he did before. This rose in crime is a consequence of the mayor's failure.
I was looking up the story to try and fact check it before posting it and it appears to be true. Another interesting thing I noticed while reading about the incident is that it was a white police officer who convinced the librarian to let him take the book.
