Some thoughts about the ENS run, and about numbers in particular š§µ
Itās no secret that Iāve been saying for the past couple of weeks that ENS was a nobrainer and 3 and 4 digits numbers in particular made a lot of sense right now because of how strongly 10k pfp brands are
growing and how intrinsically tied our digital identity is to these at this point. I imagine the trend is just going to intensify, as we transition more and more into the metaverse, for good or for bad. An ENS domain is many things, the primary being a simplifier for your eth
addy, it saves me a lot of time day in and day out, and generally makes my whole life easier. But usecases are being added all the time, and in itās new iterations, itās getting closer and closer to web3 passport, one integration at a time. Rumours of Twitter -please
@elonmusk

and possibly Instagram integrations - although I doubt it given the horribly closed and gated approach to web3 Zuck is using, are just speading up this process.
Back to 10k pfpās and numbers. When you have a half a million dollar monke as your pfp, and you sported it for
a year, and thatās now part of your identity, the bond is strong. Now you add to that 3d models being rendered and roaming the Otherside, or Sandbox or whatever other metaverse weāre gonna spend more and more time in, itās gonna compound. Can they have a name? Of course. Mine is
Dapper Don, but many donāt want that, theyād rather use the pseudonimous number. If they manage to brand that number, and make it kinda forever tied to that image forever, thatās incredibly, incredibly powerful. Does
@punk6529
ring a bell? Itās simple, fully pseudonimous as per
crypto ethos and culture and more importantly easily recognisable by basically any culture and language. Itās incredible how many are saying: but bruh, Anthony is just soooo much easier. Thatās as usual a very American centric view of the world. 2/3 of this planet
use another language. Some have a different alphabet altogether, but if they have access to the internet they still at this point standardized the use and understanding of āem.
The pfp collections being standardized for the time being at 10k is even a more powerful case for āem
and thatās because of infinite subdomains creation capacity.

You get the gist. Thatās probably a sub stream of income alone, if the trend sticks.
And finally, the most important thing is provenance and legitimacy.
ENS is as OG, rugged, provable and limited as they come. The man
@VitalikButerin
himself is a supporter and sports Vitalik.ETH on his profile. And if weāre talking usecases, it already has more utility than 90% of the slow rugs that are trading out there right now.
And weāre not even considering pure flex status these might gain, as itās pretty self evident the kind of stupid amounts of money people can spend in the license plate market. Litterally millions to something that is used and seen by a few hundred. This is on global display.
All this being said, clearly just as domains, these are illiquid as fuck. As
@danielgothits
- og trendsetters for the
@10kClubOfficial
- said?itās a gamble and you might sit on them forever. It might go to zero. Trends come and go so dyor nfa yaddayadda. I also very publicly
made a post last week where I bought all under 3 eth 3 digiys that they sold me, so yeah I clearly have a bag. If I like something, Iāll have a bag. Itās so fucking selfexplanatory, Iām not sure why this still needs to be said but hey, now thereās an audience so there you have it
Generally speaking, when I have high conviction on something thag gets ragged and mocked on A LOT, I tend to double down. If it infuriates people, cause strong emotion, itās even better. Remember monkeās? Remember Beepleās early sales? Remember NFTās as a whole? Time will tell š¦§
P.S. sorting/browsing and infrastructure in general for the ENS market is awful and has tons of room for improvement. Whoever does it best gets cemented as the go to exchange for this skyrocketing volume machine.
@LooksRareNFT
this is deffo something that needs your attention imho
Four digit ENS domains took twitter by storm yesterday, catching fire and selling out in the span of ~6 hours. They now trade at a floor of around 0.25 $eth. Sounds crazy, right? This is a thread on why this all makes more sense than you think, and what the future may hold. 1/š§µ
