THU: Very clever theme. I started with a different symbol (as I suspect many of you will) and then realized the wrinkle. Couple of stretches to make it work (18D, 48D) but forgivable. Grade: A- 11:31 Good week so far! #NYTXW

WED: Tough to find many good things to say about this one. Really corny tired theme entries with a flat (!) revealer that adds nothing. The third themer adds an adjective just make the letter count work. A 🐣 seems generous. 7:33 #NYTXW

THU: Terrific theme conceptually - loved how the acrosses in the themers stand alone and then change meaning with the downs included. But, despite the reveal the bottom third seems bereft of theme and that SE is brutal. Think we needed a more famous 60A there. 8:44 🐥🐥🐣 #NYTXW
