#TargetingZero 🦠 ethics needs to be managed carefully. It should be achieved through good planning, airborne disease control, vaccines, NPI’s and safe, plentiful, humane border quarantine. Not by abandoning duties to care for citizens at home or overseas.

There is a procedure for cleaning well water after human excrement has been dropped in it. When I first read this in an ancient book of “how to”, I wondered “Who would pollute the village well like this?” Now I know. Almost everyone.

If people try respirators and respirator like masks, and discover how much more comfortable and breathable they are than cloth masks, and realise they do provide superior protection, and then realise they get sick much less often if they wear them without gaps…

For everyone craving getting back to normal, for thousands of years normal involved disease control. We had to avoid disease somehow, or suffer the horrid consequences. Quarantine and other public health measures helped us survive. It’s not normal to have unmitigated disease.

If I could ask everyone to pause for just one minute, and put yourselves in the position of those who have lost loved ones to COVID-19, knowing the government did not put in adequate mitigations, and then read the announcement from the CMO to stop reporting COVID-19 deaths.

Did everyone catch what @mvankerkhove said on the BBC? Unlike flu, we can’t predict and prepare vaccines for coronavirus variants fast enough. They are not clearly seasonal. They spread fast once they emerge. Emergence is frequent and random. We CANT MANAGE COVID LIKE THE FLU.
