Essaibi George, who often emphasizes her Boston upbringing, was also asked if Wu's Chicago roots should be relevant to voters.
"It's relevant to me, and I think it's relevant to a lot of voters whether or not they're born and raised in the city."

, when asked about her differences with Michelle Wu, says she has a reputation of being "very much engaged."
"I'm being polite about that, but I don't see Michelle in our neighborhoods, in our city, the way that I am present."
Essaibi George not a fan of (1) safe injection sites and (2) Sheriff Tompkins's proposal to commit people living at Mass. and Cass to a repurposed detention center
Essaibi George say she doesn't think the media has treated her fairly:
"No I don't. Very clearly. And I think that the media, in many cases, has just assumed that my opponent is situated to win this race. That's very much not the case."
"There's this assumption that she's just going to simply win it, because of some of the support she's received. And to make that assumption that the people of Boston have made their choice, and for the media to have made that assumption, I think is underestimating my strengths."
Reminder: The Mayor of Boston needs to lead for ALL of us.
I’m ready to fight for every resident—whether you’ve been here since birth or chose to make Boston your home along the way.

If decisions other people made are fair campaign topics, like where Wu's parents were living when she was born, then I guess a deep dive into her husband's business and tax issues is 100% ok by Essabi-George?
@NikDeCostaKlipa
I don’t think this interview did her much good. She was very defensive when given an opportunity to address some very open ended questions about her campaign. Still holding a grudge against candidates no longer running.
@NikDeCostaKlipa
Elizabeth Warren did not endorse George. I later read that George's husband is a contractor, the Mayor is often tasked 2 award government contracts & this could lead to favoritism. Boston has a long history of corruption, I'd like to see Wu get a chance to interrupt that trend.
@NikDeCostaKlipa
Isn't it kind of strange that the woman who pretends she's a suburban white woman while living in Dorchester (and claims to live in Southie) would criticize someone who lives in Boston and actually wants to be here?
@NikDeCostaKlipa
I think being a long term resident of a city MIGHT help someone understand the issues better. But that isn't necessarily as same as being born and raised in a city. A 40+ year old that moved to Boston right after college for a job may have a good understanding of the issues.
