It's exhausting, but we either speak up and fight against this crap together now or we have our humanity, creativity, and passion drained from this world by people who have none of the above before the rest of the world can understand what is truly lost.
@NightblueArt
Know of any art guilds or digital civil rights advocacy groups drafting legislation to combat AI Corps misuse of personal data? Federal regulation is the only way I see this being curbed, and with US midterms on the horizon, politicians are primed to hear out voters' concerns.
@GohanGlobus
this is a great question and I suspect you are right. I'm unsure if there are organized efforts out there yet, and this entire farce has made it crystal clear that's what we need to do.
@XaviConcept
that community's message/attitude towards artist has been consistent. We are somehow monopolizing art by caring about it enough to put effort into understanding it. I sincerely believe if we remain complacent, we'll be losing basic rights as creatives.
@NightblueArt
Looking at the profile of this person, even a bunch of the AI techbros are ashamed of their attitude. They're not making a lot of friends in either direction
I had a great discussion with my dear friend, Jeff Kapper, about AI art. He had an idea for the art community. To counter AI art, the art community would need to get together, upload their art in a database (volunteer based, not forced!) and make something like an AI judge. (1/3)

"Now everyone can draw as well as Kim could"
Having AI generate cheap replicas of an actually talented artist's work and calling it "drawing as well as the artist" is like microwaving old leftovers from a restaurant and saying you're "cooking as well as the chef."
@NightblueArt
It's disingenuous for them to both dance with the idea of democratizing/communizing something, then talk about how it's theirs and their own work. Someone feed all this guy's work into an AI and let it take over his job. It's actually going to happen to everyone at some point.

Reminds me of a quote from Saga: "There are two kinds of people left in this world, consumers and destroyers. We used to have creators, but they all ran away."
I think about how all the recent tech couldve been used positively for/by artists but we're here cause of guys like him
