One day I'm going to make a YouTube video about my love for this man. The original Iron Chef show was so formative in my appreciation for cooking & Chen Kenichi was my favorite. Chinese cuisine is deep and vast, and he really was one of my gateways into it. RIP Chen Kenichi.

Saw my 1st Mario Bava film last weekend and it was sumptuous. BLACK SABBATH was full of color and dread, and I cannot wait to see BLOOD AND BLACK LACE. Though all the stories were great, the 3rd was THE BEST! Any other Bava recs are welcome!

Saw 13 STEPS OF MAKI last night from the Sonny Chiba Collection Vol.2 BD and it just might be my new favorite Etsuko Shihomi film! Sure it has the same ol' Toei-exploitation, but it's littered with so much Japan Action Club goodness that it's a must watch!

So I finally finished Shout Factory's Street Fighter collection featuring the late, great Shinichi 'Sonny' Chiba (the godfather of #tokusatsu ) and it was great! But watching Chiba's interview was super surprising in that he wasn't a fan of this role!
