High temperatures will be a few degrees below normal in coastal and valley areas due to weak low pressure aloft and widespread morning stratus (lingering near the coast in the afternoon). The deserts will be up to 5° warmer than average though.

We had some moderately strong wind gusts over the high deserts late this afternoon due to some high-based (mostly over 10,000 feet above the ground) convection with virga/brief showers). Local gusty sea breeze winds also occurred near Santa Ana Canyon.
