The church on Chestnut Grove in Wavertree was lit from within when we came home tonight for the first time since I don’t know when. The stained glass is astonishingly beautiful

The big problem is that cinemas will never reopen. The land is too valuable for councils and developers (see the fate of 100s of cinemas across the land) . And who, in two years time, will invest in cinemas? Unless they're supported, like arts venues, they'll be gone

Please let one party manifesto include a pledge to restore local government funding to the levels they were at a decade ago. It isn't sexy, they won't host phone ins about it, but it will save people's lives and make everyone else's lives substantially better
