The media gets climate change wrong every day. The BBC just said Sunak not going to Cop27 is ‘disappointing for climate activists’. It’s like saying the Titanic hitting the iceberg was disappointing for boat enthusiasts
@MrMatthewTodd
They seem to imply that "climate activists" are the only people who care about this, but climate change is affecting everybody and is a concern to most.
@MrMatthewTodd
Been hearing all this for almost 40 years. Nothing changes or will change. Humans are incapable at implementing solutions for long term objectives. It seems inevitable that such fallibility will result in a collapse of our species.
@MrMatthewTodd
I'm quite sure climate activists wouldn't be disappointed by such an expected move. If anything, it serves as a consolidation of the need to struggle for system change.

@GeorgeMonbiot
Broadcast news very highly regulated. 'Due impartiality' has to be attempted, so BBC is attempting to be bland rather than inflammatory in their phrasing. Damned if they do & damned if they don't.
@MrMatthewTodd
@GeorgeMonbiot
Well, it is true that there are many in and outside Parliament who are dead against 'The Green Blob' and don't like taking action on the

as they think it might damage their business/vested interests. After all, people voted to Truss and Trump.

@JustStop_Oil
Can imagine them thinking "we can't say planet, its not impartial, now, let's get this wrapped up we've got 2 conservatives and the boss of a think tank on next for our politics live show"
@MrMatthewTodd
Can you inform us of your plan in 8 years if no licence issued & reserves run out, we keep asking. As at moment all renewables use oil somewhere along the line. Solar panels on the moon maybe & send microwaves to earth, oh hold on our brains would fry & solar storms would smash
