Firstly - ULEZ.
ULEZ was expanded to cover this area on August 29th 2023 - 6 months ago.
Do we really buy that a wedding dress shop - a business which by its nature tends to be for one off purchases - actually saw a 70% fall in sales overnight?

7/12
So a potential 6% fall is causing a 70% fall in her sales - overnight?!
π€π€π€
And what kind of cars are they?
Cars that are older than 18 years.
Is it really likely that 70% of her customers who are spending 000βs on a wedding dress are driving 20 year old cars?
4/12
A cohort damaged by the COVID years - with no meaningful effort put into supporting them to catch up (unlike most of the rest of the western world).
They KNOW they live in a society that, not only does NOT have their back, it actively demonises them.
10/12
BEFORE the ULEZ expansion over 90% of cars in that area were already ULEZ compliant
After the expansion 96.4% of cars in that area were ULEZ compliant
So, at most, thatβs 6% fewer cars - some of which will have been upgraded, and some of which may well no be used as often

Itβs an emotive subject, I know.
