Just a point on the pen not given, the referee gave a corner which suggests he thought Dier got the ball, VAR should surely then be telling him he didn’t. For clarity and accountability we should be allowed to hear the discussion in those moments, as either way it was an error

Re VAR, I still support the principle of it, but we seem to have lost sight of the element of the offside law being about preventing players from gaining an advantage, so many of these mm decisions are not advantages. Jonnys cross goes past 7 Liverpool defenders
