Artists are TIRED.
Day jobs eat up energy. There's always a wrestling match between insufficient time and a lack of motivation. When you do have time, you're exhausted from thinking about how you should be drawing instead of scrolling.
Sound familiar? Let's talk about it:

Dream jobs are Nightmares. FYI. When I was younger I wanted to work for Squaresoft on FF. When I eventually did it was the greatest shit show I’ve ever seen. Very disappointing. I sure there are instances where this isn’t true but the reality of production is soul crushing. 😭

This cycle is exactly why I quit my job and just went for it. It's a terrible idea but my perspective is I'd rather work for pennies doing what I love than work for slightly more pennies and have it prevent me from enjoying life.

It’s a lonely & depressing process. But at least we get to dream, some never even dream. Dream big & never stop.
But I understand. Everything is trying to drain our energy & it’s exhausting. It eventually feels like nothing matters.
Creative ppl r caged now,lets free them.

This has been my struggle 🥲🥲 and then the weekend is time for chores, lol. Doing my best to work past all of the exhaustion and make art 🫡
@MichaelG_3D
been my exact struggle !! I really think it's impossible to keep overworking long-term
can't reduce hours either bc of my visa
end up cramming work into weekends and go into work on Monday with extra resentment for full-time job
@MichaelG_3D
Even working on a creative job full-time things are designed as such that you have no creative juices left to work on your own thing. This is because if you're tired, overworked and depressed, companies can keep underpaying us with no fear of us jumping ship. NDAs also help this.
