Look how fast gas storage was depleted in the UK with cold weather and renewables failing. Now as Russian flows disappear the problem will become real across EU, making the cap even more inadequate
@MenthorQpro
The UK relied on North Sea nat gas flowing & didn't invest in expensive storage in the past, so now they have little storage relative to the rest of Europe:
@MenthorQpro
UK has storage equal to a couple of days of use on cold days. No wonder the reserves go down really fast. I hope yhey have new supply lined up, winter is far from over.

@KNLCBD
Not to mention the UK has less than 1% the storage capacity of Europe- likely will drive a revised contest for LNG spot cargoes with Asia
@MenthorQpro
The UK has massive gas reserves. They're located in the seas around Scotland and whenever the UK wants them, Scotland gapes it's asshole and releases the gas, meanwhile paying the highest power prices anywhere in UK and Europe. It's great living here in Scotland.
@MenthorQpro
Classic BBG chart crime. % meaningless. And the cut-off at 60% more so, given the conti is at about 90%. Not to mention that GB has flipped back to injection, and at this rate will be back to about 85% full by end of the month.
Plus, RU flows currently static.
@MenthorQpro
Even more significant is the ramifications for Ireland.... who has zero storage, and is reliant on a subsea pipe from Britain and a single lone Irish gas field that ibly provides ~ 1/3 of domestic supply... Ireland is most at risk in western Europe
