@ThapzDikgopo The tour van put this poor antelope at a disadvantage in the first place. The poor animal had no chance here. Its senses were raised & it knew something was up but couldn't place the coming danger as the engine was running in the background. Poor tour guide practice right there😭

I was watching this auction yesterday & when the Lot 1 'cow' went for R280k ($17k) , I knew we were in for a treat of bids. This bull then shortly sold for R2.3M ($137K). This is every Stud Farmer's dream to reach these levels of trust & respect for their brand & product. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

If I was not committed already, this is a breed I would be into for sure. The Sussex is an English breed known for it's docility & is one of Europe's oldest purebred cattle breeds. It is a solid, well built Bos-Taurus type cow which could make a perfect cross breeder for Africa.

These (Frm 1 & 2) are the Akaushi cows. This breed of cattle is gaining popularity in the US for its quality of beef. For me this looks more like the Hanwoo (frm 3) which translates to Korean cow. Been following the Hanwoo for a few years as I believe its greatness is underrated.

In my neck of the woods, when the Goats start walking around with the tails down, know that something ain't right & act fast. Our Heartwater ticks will give you little to NO time once the animal goes down so it pay's to sometimes just follow them a bit or to just be observant.👊🏾

This frame 3 dorper has amazing hind quarters. I don't think I'd be wrong to say I am yet to see a Dorper that looks half this decent on the veld or on pasture as this specimen here. This breed looks super great in at shows, but maybe I should pay more attention for then on veld.

Spent the later hours of the evening with the kids in the kitchen rendering some cow fat. I don't yet know how many Kg's this lard will work out to when cooled but it should be enough to last a while. They say this type of fat is MUCH healthier than the processed oils we buy.🔥👊🏾

We call him Herero 👇🏾. He is the Meatmaster Ram that came in from Namibia Dec 2022. All the ewes were already served when he landed but I'm happy to confirm he is already serving them for the end of year lambing season. He has adapted very well to our heartwater area.👊🏽 LENGTH..!

This just under 2yr Charolais was impressive from the word go as I set foot into the kraals area. Great depth & line on back is well representative of the breed. Any idea how much something like this would go for in your own Country. Multiply it 15 folds & you're in business. 🥰

Spent the day taking some soil samples. Had to ware wellingtons while walking about because the land in infested with snakes & not just snakes but HUGE poisoners kinds. Spotted one fleeing from just close by within 2mins of arriving & this spitting cobra F3 about 20mins later😲🤔

Made myself one of these manual augers from a used cutting disk on Thursday. This has shed off some serious hours & elbow grease from the work I had to do this weekend. Holes are uniform, poles fit | cover very well. A bit of 🧏🏿‍♂️🧏🏿‍♂️ & 🔥

I think the South Americans who settle in Taxes are doing some amazing work with genetics and more especially around the Brahman breed. Very nice animal. Maybe the word nice is actually far from appropriate. Wow..! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😍

This one shocked me. 😵 From left field this doe gave me a black kid. I don't have any block boy running around nor do my neighbors. 100% BLACK..! Note the twin is sitting there blaming herself. Throwback genetics is truly amazing. We still love her though, we're all equal here🤣

Meatmaster is not too represented this year. Only three (3) stalls from two breeders. The boys are very well built though. I like their depth and length mostly. Maybe next year I will send a couple too. Will see..!👊🏽

It's been a very depressing day, demanding week, hectic month & challenging year. 😪 Dropped off a three animals at the Lab for autopsy following the lose of 20% of my flock. I am so exhausted & emotionally drained I swear I can't wait for this 23 to come to a close. FARMING😭..!
