“Sonic 3 doesn’t need Crush 40!”
“You can’t just stuff game music in where it doesn’t fit!”
Dawgs, idc. I NEED to hear Live & Learn playing when Sonic & Shadow finally team up at the end.
He didn’t even need to do this.
He was gonna reset the universe anyway.
He just wanted his most hated enemy to SUFFER for the last few seconds of his life.
the Master Emerald should be permanently destroyed so that Knuckles can show up in stories and games more often without there needing to be some kind of justification each time
@BasedPota18
He’s in that weird dimension of ‘popular enough that he’s a necessary part of any adaptation’ and ‘obscure enough that no one gives a shit what you do with him’
“IDW is a different canon, let IDW Sonic be his own character!” Doesn’t work when IDW’s canon uses the games as a backbone for its more.
IDW Sonic is SUPPOSED to be Game Sonic, ergo it makes sense to criticize him as a continuation of that character.
When I was a kid I read most of Archie Sonic in the form of the archive volumes, and they had such amazing cover art. I always found the classic Japanese Sonic style illustrations really striking and very visually pleasing. Spaz is a great artist with almost endless versatility
“Happy birthday, Sonic! Here’s your present!” *hands Sonic an empty jar.*
“Tails, what is it?”
“It’s a jar of wind, Sonic!”
“Tails….I know I don’t say this nearly enough but…thank you.”
I don’t think these two comics should be compared anymore tbh.
One is a comic trying to have big, game level adventures with a huge scope that focuses on the heroes, while the other is much more low key and focused on the lil’ guys perspective.
I think both are valid.
This Knuckles vs Shadow fight is way better than the one in X because it doesn’t feel like it’s jerking Shadow off to make him look better than everyone else.
Sonic remaining his optimistic and confident self after six months of torture is infinitely way cooler + more in character than him being all grim and bitter.
Maybe just…don’t watch Velma??? It looks terrible, so why bother? Why not interact with some other Scooby Media instead? Here’s some of my recommendations!
Sonic’s instrument being a guitar always felt like blatant ‘USification’ to me. His obvious instrument of choice should be a wind instrument.
It’s almost as bad as chili dogs if I’m being honest
Normalize Sonic girls not needing to wear pants/leg covers tbh. Not every single female characters needs to be fully covered and there’s nothing sexual about that.
If we’re talking strictly comics: Post-SGW Shadow is the best version of the character and truest to the games. He doesn’t feel overly sensitive but he’s not overly edgy either.
He’s no nonsense, cocky, he does care about people(doesn’t like showing it). He’s PEAK.
@HistorySonic
For anyone hating the art…
1. No, this isn’t Penders before anyone says it to be funny.
2. This is from Steven Butler, and he’s actually a good Sonic artist. This issue just wasn’t one of his better ones. He’s drawn good Eggman’s before and after.
Hear me out: Tom’s next Spider-Man trilogy is all about the Symbiote.
4. Gets the Symbiote suit.
5. Symbiote starts getting too attached and angry
6. Vs. Venom
@BasedPota18
I think it’s fine as a ‘hey, these things are sort of vaguely similar!’ way, and I can deny the bonus of DBZ influenced fight scenes in the fan community.
If you say Shadow is similar to Vegeta I’m breaking your legs.
“Ken Penders thinks he owns all echidnas!” Is one of those unfunny jokes that just isn’t true.
He has never tried to claim Finitevus, Tikal, or the Knuckles tribe.
The only noteworthy example is him comparing the Nocturnas clan to the Dark legions, which was somewhat fair.
We used to have Sonic comics that were fun and exciting and now we have to settle for diet 2000s Sonic in a fan base where everyone thinks they have a psychic link with Maekawa himself.
Sonic Prime but good.
“W-we understand your disappointment, sir…”
“Disappointment??? Disappointment doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it…let me show you how a pro handles a hedgehog…”
A genuinely interesting and unique take on an iconic character, and the only time normies bring him up is to ask if he could beat Goku or something stupid.
People really have a tendency to just act like assholes whenever someone suggests bringing the Freedom Fighters back.
It goes from ‘they don’t have a place in the franchise’ to just hurling insults and acting rude real fast.
Honestly I think the real reason that Sonic and Amy works better than Sonic and Sally is not only because of Sonic and Amy’s respect for the other’s life style, but it’s also because Sonic the Hedgehog would never date outside of his race.
I get that Werehog Sonic going feral goes against Unleashed’s characterization, but I love it when Sonic’s friends are the ones who get to return the favor help HIM out for a change.
random but words cant describe how much I LOVE Archies Werehog run
as much as I like his original purity in Unleashed, Its so cool how they made this man a fucking DEMON
Was listening to the What a Cartoon Podcast episode about Sonic SatAM which had the OK KO creator, and I remembered he did some awesome Sonic + Sally drawings.
HE GETS IT!!!!

@to_assistir
Eggman replacing his renegade nephew with a robot duplicate, so no one would never know he was missing. Bro just gets to stay trapped in a basement somewhere for the rest of his life.
All you gotta do to fix this is make Suicide Squad non canon and make a follow up Arkham game with Batman Beyond. You will win back your whole audience(so long as it’s good).
I’m rewatching a random episode of SatAM right now and MAN does this show do character interactions and dialogue well. Also just really good voice acting.
“You mean it’s not a toaster?’ Kinda kills me lol
If nothing else can we at least say the Freedom Fighters had a good send off? Their story ends with them stopping their biggest threat yet, and a cute epilogue where we see them start their adventure with Sonic.
If nothing else I think it’s as good of an ending we’ll ever get.
If you want a good example of Sonic needing to grow into a better hero, try Sonic the Comic. The slow burn makes it more believable and he’s not an annoying stutterer who jumps at his own shadow.
@BBaudix
@Guslivesagain
1. Power Rangers and Superman look great.
2. Batman and Robin represent the time period where they came from, people want the modern versions of the costumes in movies.
3. The Vision costume was designed to be bad on purpose.
So yeah, more accurate costumes would be nice.
“What??? We have eight dollars.”
“For FOOD, Shake. We had eight dollars for FOOD.”
“Aw c’mon now. Don’t fight. Just take a little bit of Meatwad. Low in meat, high in wad.”
"It's about brand recognition, Brock! I'm verified now. Everyone WISHES they had what I have. They WISH they could be Rusty Venture, former boy adventurer and genius inventor, but there can only be one. And that's me."
Ken Penders jokes are only funny when they’re made by actual fans of Archie Sonic.
Anything else just comes off as people trying to ride an easy target.
I find it kinda funny that the criticism of ‘Archie Sonic is barely Sonic’s comic’ 100% applies to IDW with all of its original characters getting the big story moments/mini series.
Honestly kind of annoying how little the game cast gets to work with.
It’s kind of insane how stacked Sonic SatAM was in terms of voice acting talent. Jaleel White, Kath Soucie, Tim Curry, Jim Cummings, Frank Welles, Rob Paulsen. One of the more underrated parts of the show tbh.
