I am trying to figure out how the Patriots will split up playing time with so many heads that could play linebacker. What happens with Phillips, Dugger, and Chung who are also all capable of switching there? Jennings, Hall, Bentley? Winovich and Uche? Lots left to unfold.

On defense, saw Dugger (of course 😤), Colbert, and Dee Virgin make some plays. Virgin had a nice finish and PBU vs. Agholor, who ran a nice route. Another note on a handoff here: I can confirm the pep in Sony’s step. Ever since the end of last season, he’s had it.

While I’m not a “Cam fan” per say, can someone show me a better veteran option for the price paid? Cam has a year in the system now, and with the Patriots out of range for someone like Russ or Watson, there would be no other way to acquire a top ten QB (or anything really close).

After that, just go QB, WR, RB in the draft. If you trade up and are only left with roughly the seventh pick, your second rounder or third rounder, and maybe a later fifth, that’s fine. Fields/Lance, Nico Collins, and then a Jarret Patterson would fill the remaining holes.

@jscancoach I also am not a fan of Brown’s deal. Not sure if anyone would want him at his current price. But, it’s interesting to think about and could potentially be worked around. A nugget of an idea.

@pats_chatter247 Agreed, and I’ll let the moral victories fly early on in the season. Maybe week three. Week six has now passed. It’s time to start cleaning up the mistakes, putting things together, playing to strengths, and play 60 mins of your best football. We’re yet to see that. Will it come?

@jscancoach That would be nice. I guess that the Patriots should also evaluate what they have out of Yondy Cajuste, Bentley, Terez Hall. All those guys provide nice depth, but can they be enough to fill the voids potentially left by Brown, Wynn, Hightower? Big question remaining.
