I believe "absolutely awesome" is the technical description for what the B Line is going to be. This thing is going to be absolutely smashed full of riders.

Public transit is about connecting people to their lives. $28 million in federal funding is going to constructing the new METRO B Line - a project to connect Minnesotans in the Twin Cities along the Lake Street, Marshall Avenue, and Selby Avenue corridor.

As a reminder: the reason projects like the B Line bus rapid transit or major new off-street paths along Hamline Ave are so valuable is because they are multipliers. The B Line alone is great. Hamline Ave trail Will be great. Together? They are UNREAL!

Seriously, just the "Priority Bikeways" map could be an entire thread. The theoretical route of Minneapolis to Territorial to Pierce Butler to Como Ave to Pennsylvania to Phalen Blvd could end up being the "non-Greenway" Greenway. It would be an amazing bike super highway. 6/

@MattPrivratsky It's going to be awesome. Hopefully signal priority and eventually removing parking from Selby can make it even more awesome. That Selby stretch is the most annoying bit of main bus route out there, especially in winter when you can barely fit two full cars side to side.

@MattPrivratsky Because of rider stats and other data, it's really starting to feel like these within-cities BRT are going to be more popular than LRT. Of course, take more drivers than LRT of same # of passengers but a really busy BRT route with buses coming every 5 minutes, Of take over rail.
