16 mos. ago I came to UKR to fight. I formed a team with 34 guys. Some of them had one of the toughest experiences among int’l volunteers: 4 KIA, 1 POW, 1 MIA and they went back home. A year later they come back to Ukraine to continue the fight. Meet chosen Co. 59th Mech BDE

In high-intensity wars, key cities along the front lines often change hands, sometimes multiple times. The story of #Lysyschansk and #Severodonetsk does not end with Russia in control, it ends with the cities under a Ukrainian flag. Look at Irpin and Kharkiv for precedent

I can’t imagine the incredible hardship Andy has endured the last 5 months. He was among those released yesterday and he is now home. His sacrifice (and that of others) has motivated me to keep going. Welcome home brother and hero.

I met Andy my first day in Ukraine and we were on the same team until recently. He is not a mercenary. His motives for defending Ukraine were genuine and did not involve financial gain.
