#YOUGOTTHIS
Serious question... have you helped another writer today? This business is tough. Kindness makes differences. Need an idea? Send somebody virtual coffee, read a first page, follow another writer on Twitter. We get to dictate our culture. Let's make it the best it can be.
#goals
How can you support another writer today?
• Leave a book review
• Do a query critique
• Give words of encouragement
• Buy a book
• Review a first page
• Support a local book store
• Just be nice.

Question. I feel like I'm being shown more tweets from people that we don't follow in the publishing world that seem to be amplifying negative views. Is this just me? Publishing is hard, but it's full of great people. New writers, you okay?
Publishing tip.
Only query in small batches. There is nothing worse than having a query out in the world that you desperately want to change.
You've got this!
I know we say this all the time, but the querying process should be a series of small pivots. If you aren't getting requests take a hard look at your query and first pages. Make improvements. Try again.
#pubtip
Writers. Be proud of what you've accomplished. Every single written page is a win. Every rejection is proof you're in process. Keep going. You've got this.
Hey all. What a tough day. We're working through emails, but getting lost in news. I feel like I must say that in times of darkness, your stories and your creative energy are light. Don't stop. Tell your stories. Words matter. Gosh, do they ever.
January is the perfect month to finally revise that manuscript! We've got three days of lessons, interaction, and conversation that will help. Work at your own pace. Recorded lessons. Live events with replays. Members are free. Non-members $39.

has been rough lately. We know. It's on our minds, too. Our best advice, keep your focus on the art. Do your best work. Ignore the chatter. You've got this.
Let's talk about what's okay in publishing:
• It's okay to enjoy summer
• It's okay to not write every day
• It's okay to reward small progress
• it's okay to take a break!
We're all so sad today. I know it's hard, but just keep writing important books that will help make change. It's all of your superpowers. You can do it.
Agents write and revise pitches every week & we still suffer with them. We know how hard writing a query is. Be kind to yourself. It’s not an easy job & it requires practice, patience, & learning.

Hey publishing people, we'd love a back-up just in case Twitter implodes. Looking at Mastodon, does the server thing really matter? If so, which one? Gahhhh!
Sometimes a simple conversation can open the door to a greater understanding of the best way to proceed. Writers, find your people. Chat with experts. Don't fumble in solitude. The beauty of this business is community.

I'm hearing people are in two camps right now. Some writers are stacking wordcount during this time, other people (like me!) have found their creativity seems to be lost out in the willywacks. Which camp are you?
Things you to do for other writers:
1.) Go to book launches
2.) Tweet author successes that are not your own
3.) Review books
4.) BUY BOOKS!
5.) Remind all the artists you know that we're in this together.
6.) Stay positive on Twitter.
It always amazes me just how hard the query letter is to write. It's like a puzzle with every word fitting perfectly together and the picture in harmony.

We love the start of a new week. Just a reminder that our critique system has launched and we have the ever amazing Eric Smith panel this week.
Bring it on September.
This feels like the perfect time to remind people that the best way to support writers and creators is to buy books as holiday gifts at indie book stores. It keeps these vibrant and special places going! It feels good. It's the right decision.
