At comics school, one of my teachers used to say "The only cartooning technique you need to master, is how to sit you ass in a chair and draw". Annoyingly, he was 100% correct.
Hello. Please enjoy my new comic. It's about Hollywood and ego and climate change, and it has the most satisfying ending you'll read this week.

Hi all. I've worked as a colour flatter/colourist on 5 graphic novels now. If you count my own book it's 6, which makes well over 1,000 pages. I've gotten really fast. Here's the things I've learned that save me time on every page + add up to hours of savings every week!

A job is not a gift. In the creative industries, employers get away with a lot because they (and we) treat it as such. Yes, they are giving you money. But you are giving them a portion of your single human life which is infinitely more valuable. 🤷♀️
Hello. My landlord just told me he wants everyone in my house to move out by December 31st. To celebrate, here is a strongly anti-landlord comic I made a few years ago. The Peeping Tom.

Publishing queer work is about more than publishing stories about being gay, trans etc. It's about publishing queer perspectives on the world. A character may never say they're gay, or crush on another man or whatever. Doesn't mean their story isn't inherently queer.
Hello.
Please enjoy this new comic about the strangest thing that ever happened to me: Getting stuck on an overnight train with Serbian cheese smugglers. Anxiety, travel & self-help.

Thank you for the nice response to Dogs on Dates, everyone. I will be posting a new Dogs strip every Monday and Wednesday, and am excited to get back to work on new stuff once I buy a new computer (oh I knocked a glass of water over my laptop yesterday, destroying it 🤪)
Zines are cool. Self-publishing your comics is cool. Making things extremely cheap or free is cool. Working on the fundamentals is cool. Sharing with your friends and arts community is cool. Being inclusive is cool. Making shitty stuff while you're learning is cool.
I sold this cartoon to the New Yorker over 3 years ago, but it was printed in the magazine today, so the author bios I've been using since then saying "published in The New Yorker" are no longer lying.
