On Sept 13th a moma bear and her cub visited Louisville for a quick vacation before the fall and winter set in. They booked their return trip through Colorado Parks and Wildlife and made it back home safely after an evening of fine dining in the city.

Our wildlife officers and @LouisvilleCOPD gave her and her cub a free ride to better bear habitat. This time of year, bears are stuffing their faces as much as possible before winter. We have to all do our part to keep trash and other food away from bears. #wildliferescue

There has been an active police presence in the northwest corner of the City of Louisville. Multiple police agencies were searching for three suspects. All three suspects have been located and apprehended, and there is no further threat to the surrounding communities.

The hose used to make this flag was used while fighting the Marshall Fire. As firefighters fought to gain a more tactical position on the fire, they cut the hoses from their rigs and abandon them. A firefighter then made a flag for each of the firehouses & the police department.

The Conoco gas station in Louisville is replacing all credit card scanners with anti-skimmer technology. Feb. 19th there was a possible incident of credit card information skimmed at a pump. If you filled your tank the 19th of Feb, please monitor your credit for unusual activity.

4/15/22 LPD responed to a medical call. A 23yr old female was unconscious and not breathing. The victim had been poisoned by fentanyl & the officer on scene began life-saving measures including administration of Narcan. The heroic actions of the officers help revive the victim.

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, Mr. Nathan Liedtke was arrested on a warrant for a burglary that occurred in a home that was damaged by the Marshall Fire. As a condition of the arrest warrant, Mr. Liedtke is restrained from entering the Marshall Fire burn areas.

On 12/8/21, Louisville and Lafayette officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress. Officers located the suspect who entered an occupied residence in an attempt to steal a car. He was arrested after a brief struggle. No injury was sustained by the officers or suspect.

Auto Theft 101 This is not a class on auto theft. 101 is the number of vehicles stolen per day in CO in 22'. That's a total of 37,110 stolen vehicles in 22'. Up to 50% of vehicle theft is due to driver apathy - leaving vehicle doors unlocked and keys in the vehicle.

On 10/22/21, a Louisville Police SUV was vandalized. The SUV was near the crosswalk in the 200 block of Via Appia Way. The graffiti on the SUV is targeted specifically toward law enforcement, and the Louisville Police Department has consulted with the FBI in this investigation.

The Sunshine Wildland Fire size estimate has been updated to 16 acres. Due to limited fire spread and improving weather conditions, evacuation warnings for areas in the City of Boulder have been lifted. Evacuation orders in the county are still in effect.
