Today new positive cases of Corona virus are
- 4 in N Ireland
- 11 in Scotland
-608 in England and Wales
And we release lockdowns today!!

The weather in Aberystwyth is worse today than it was during Storm Eunice. Don’t expect to see it on the news though, because this isn’t the southeast of England.
The Welsh voting age debate has sailed by. The decision has been made. 16 and 17 year olds can vote in Wales. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop us voting this election. Why are people still discussing it?
If someone has underlying health conditions, that doesn't mean that they're going to die soon. It doesn't mean that their life isn't worth any less. It doesn't mean that they don't deserve to be protected. The loss of someone with a condition is just as tragic as any other.
Wales has reported no new deaths from COVID-19 today.
This is the first time this has happened since the 5th of October.
Bear in mind that this is a deflated figure due to usual weekend reporting, but still optimistic news regardless.
My COVID-19 update tomorrow will be the 200th. It's been quite a ride since I started on the 11th of March, but it's been great talking to so many new people and having something to do that I really enjoy.
Thanks everyone!
Mae'n bleser gen i gyhoeddi fy mod i yn sefyll i fod yn gynrychiolydd nesaf Ceredigion yn y Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru.
I am delighted to announce that I am standing to be Ceredigion's next representative in the Welsh Youth Parliament.
If the UK entered lockdown on the 16th of March, then how come I was in school as late as the 20th? You can’t rewrite history to cover up your huge mistakes.
This is an absolute disgrace. Wales exports 243 BILLION litres of water every year to England and yet we are paying more for it. This union has something very wrong with it.

Some people are unhappy with the pace of the Welsh Government’s reopening of Wales. I don’t mind it, as long as it reduces the risk of more lockdowns in the future.
"I'll be having a burger tonight. That's usually how I celebrate things!"
16-year-old
@LloydCymru
spent his summer analysing coronavirus stats in Wales. Now he's celebrating top GCSE results 🍔 🎉
Right. Let’s have some optimism.
• Wales one match away from Grand Slam.
• Lowest Covid case rate in Wales since mid September.
• Deaths from Covid still falling rapidly.
• Welsh NHS is delivering vaccinations at a record pace.
• First steps out of lockdown have been made.
THREAD: I just want to make a few things absolutely clear. I am NOT a journalist. I do NOT have an agenda to promote in my Coronavirus updates. I am just a teenager with a lot of spare time and an enjoyment of statistics.
No, we shouldn’t. The Welsh people have made it clear that we want devolution twice now. It doesn’t even affect you, as you don’t live in a devolved nation, so fix your own child-starving, pensioner-culling government before talking about abolishing ours.
Still can’t get over the fact that there are people in Wales actively working against us having any control over our own affairs. It’s honestly incredible.
Just a quick thread: The figure Alun Cairns has used here includes residents outside Wales who have been counted in our figures. In reality, the number is 1,025.4, which is lower than England. 1/4
Few would have believe the latest data, particularly after the recent anti English sentiment of some. Cases per 100,000
Wales - 1,078.5
Scotland - 827.9
NI - 1,329.5
England - 1,039
At the end of this pandemic, we need to build a memorial with the name of every healthcare worker who have lost their lives. These people are heroes and deserve to be recognised for their sacrifices.
Some of you might have noticed that I’m not very active or responsive on Twitter anymore. That’s because it’s become an almost unbearable cesspit over the last few weeks. I’ll probably carry on just posting my COVID updates and getting on with my day for the foreseeable future.
What a day it has been. Despite the atrocious weather, Glasgow has today proved itself as an absolutely wonderful city! Thanks for being excellent hosts and I hope to be back in Scotland soon, and I hope Wales and Scotland can one day celebrate independence together!

Merry Christmas everyone. This year hasn't been easy for any of us, so be kind, enjoy yourselves and, most importantly, stay safe. I'd also like to give a special thank you to the amazing people who won't be having the day off today.
Nadolig Llawen i bob un ohonoch.
Not going to be looking at anything on Twitter for a little while. Lockdown is getting to me and Twitter is not helping. Feel free to DM me if you have any burning questions.
Unless there's some sort of backlog I'm not aware of, it appears that the 7-day rate of confirmed COVID-19 cases is starting to slowly fall in many parts of Wales. Still a very long way to go though.
Stay safe, follow the rules and we will get through this!
23 years ago today, Wales voted to establish its own Parliament, then called the Assembly. Despite the narrow margin of the referendum, it remains one of the most important days in modern Welsh history.
If you’re travelling to spend your Easter holiday in a rural/coastal holiday village, caravan park, campsite or whatever, you are a selfish twat. Simple.
Based on the events of this weekend, I think we’re in a rough next few weeks. Social distancing fell apart, and everyone will pay. We are screwed if people carry on behaving like this.
I just drove from Aberystwyth to Newtown and back. My car burned £13.10 worth of petrol along the way. There were three of us in the car.
Three return train tickets from Aberystwyth to Newtown would have cost us £17 EACH.
Transport needs to be affordable to be attractive.
Today's COVID-19 update will be my 100th. I have made daily slides every day except one since the 11th of March. I have kept every single one and they're all here: . Thanks for all the support and positivity throughout this little project.
If Welsh is a “foreign” language in the words of the leader of the House of Commons himself, does that mean Wales is not a part of the UK? Are we independent now???
Decided I’m going to take a Christmas break from social media between next Saturday (19th of December) and the 2nd of January. Daily COVID updates will be still be posted, but I won’t be interacting.

No, we shouldn’t. The Welsh people have made it clear that we want devolution twice now. It doesn’t even affect you, as you don’t live in a devolved nation, so fix your own child-starving, pensioner-culling government before talking about abolishing our better government.
@WelshConserv
Hello. Welsh person here. I don’t want my area to get a spike in cases just because you think the Union is more important than our health. Thank you.
Let 2021 be a year of hope. We will take back what we all loved and enjoyed, but we’ll never forget what 2020 taught us. Appreciate what we’ve got and never forget what got us here.
Blwyddyn Newydd dda.
When the Welsh government holds a press conference, it takes place at the time they say. When the English government holds one, they delay it by an hour and then it takes place almost three hours after they said it would.

Wales is changing. When I joined YesCymru last summer, we had 1,200 members. I couldn’t be more proud to see that 10,000 people are now a part of this fast-growing, positive movement!🏴
Wales goes into firebreak and they said they couldn’t even bring the Job Support Scheme forward a week. England goes into lockdown and they move heaven and earth in a day. We Stand Together??!!! Like the words “United Kingdom” it’s one big con job. Join the indy movement today.
There are around 200 countries all the world, from all of which non-essential travel into Wales is banned, and yet the English tabloids are desperate to paint the English as if they’re victims or targets. It’s disgusting and only worsens tensions between Wales and England.
Drakeford and his government need to start telling us the truth about what's going on with vaccination.
Otherwise, someone needs to table a motion of no confidence.
Some people seem to have missed the point of this. I’m not trying to make any one country look worse than the others. I’m just separating England and Wales because that number isn’t helpful to people from either country.
Why, whenever the Welsh Government changes the rules, do the media keep telling us that they're confusing? I appreciate that a small minority of people will genuinely be confused, so, instead of telling us that they're confusing, make them clear!
My COVID-19 update today was the 178th I've done. I didn't originally expect it to go on for so long, but here we are, and I suspect this will still be going for months into the future.
If Welsh tourism is to reopen safely, the Welsh Government should implement a mandatory 10-day quarantine for all arrivals from outside Wales.
Local people must be protected.
The Telegraph is lying here. Tourism from England to the rest of the UK is banned under England’s own lockdown rules, and will be until at least the 12th of April.
In a very good mood (for once!)
One more day of home learning until half term, lowest covid case rate in Wales since the 3rd of October and my grandmother (65-69 age group) has had her first vaccination scheduled!
This calls for a celebratory sausage bap and a walk!
The 59 new cases in Wales today is the lowest number of new cases reported in a day (excluding changes in reporting) since the 20th of March, when we had just 21 new cases.
After this pandemic is over, I hope to carry on doing some statistical work in my spare time, and hopefully be able to run a 2021 Senedd Election results site.
I won't be particularly responsive on Twitter for a little while. Quite busy with other stuff at the moment, and need to relax a bit more. Updates will carry on as normal!
Today marks a year since I started tracking Wales' COVID-19 statistics. It's been hell of a journey so far, and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me in many ways in the last year.
You can donate to me and see every update I've done here: .
