I haven't abandoned the conversation - I just realised how little I remember the Harper years, other than a $2 million lake, and fostering cats. Since: "Let's focus on now," has become "Let's rehash ten years ago," I'm reviewing the Harper years. I'll be back in a day or so.

Interestingly, when you try to avoid more biased sources, Canada's federal government is just a generally dodgy place no matter who's running the show. Racist misogyny, muzzling vs disregarding climate scientists, partisanship... La plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose...

@Liv_F Problem with that is he’s literally a part of the UCP government. For Albertans he never really left.

@TheBlueGem3 But UCP voters like him, so suggesting that he's behind the scenes probably strengthens the UCP brand.

@hellonature Fair, sort of, but do we need to be reminded that "PMSH was mean and yucky" every time someone is critical of the LPC government's policies on #ClimateAction or #MMIWG ?

@CBinVAN I'm not defending his honour or feelings. Anyone is allowed to hate him obsessively forever, and to attribute every bad thing in their lives to his very existence. I just question the win in that for you. No one is voting for him again. 🤷‍♀️

@Liv_F If @stephenharper stops meddling with Canadian democracy then we'll move on but as long as he's still calling the shots at the party that's official Opposition he's still fair game!

@RadioTMI @stephenharper But, fair game as what? His party faithful admire him as much as LPC party faithful admire PMJT. So, do people drag him just because it's fun? Or does it accomplish something else? Do LPC voters need to be reminded that they shouldn't vote for him?

@Liv_F The Conservatives need to cut the strings that Harper uses on his puppets...Scheer was Harper without the sweater vests (and without Harper's political brains). Mackay and O'Toole still have their strings attached...

@grouchdiver Why? CPCers still like PM Harper. The constant reminders that he's around are probably what keeps the party polling above 20 percent. Few people are excited about Mr.MacKay or Mr. Sloan.

@jorstan101 Were we talking about PMSH in his historical context, I would agree, and it wouldn't bother me. It comes across more as an ongoing warning not to vote for him again. Am I misreading that?

@DaSchwantz Dear @stephenharper , LPC voters are concerned about your continued involvement with the CPC. It is for that reason that they invoke your name in ALL policy discussions. Were you to step back, they say they would stop, and discussions could be about present-day issues. Thank you.

@IamRubberYerGlu I guess that's where I lose the tour. At this point, PM Harper is only as relevant to you as you let him be.
