Happy to announce that I have just accepted an offer to be the Director of Esports at Fisher College in Boston. I’ve always loved building things from scratch, time to see what I can do here 🙂
I’ve decided to step down from my position as Director of Esports at Bay State College, my final day will be July 6th. Looking forward to new adventures, stay tuned for where I land next :) I want to thank my students and staff for an amazing year, continue to do great things!
Why do people get so upset about military sponsorships in esports? It’s no different than when they sponsor college game days in traditional sports. Or goto local high schools.
Most branches have adapted some type of competitive gaming ecosystem within their units as well.
Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me! It’s an absolute honor to win an award like this. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way. This awards never for meant for just one person it’s for everyone out there working their tails off🫡
A local college in New England is starting an esports program.
I applied for the position just to talk with the hiring director to see what their plans are and if I could do any consulting for them.
Turns out I don't have enough experience for them 😅
In the last week, 6 students reached out to me that they had just found out their scholarship wasn’t renewed for this year….
Hey directors do better… 1 week before schools start and you’re making kids scramble? The hell is wrong with you people. Do better please
We will no longer allow teams to stream against us in observer mode in Valorant after seeing evidence of cheating in one of our recent loses. It’s unfortunate to come to this, but without integrity in varsity programs I will not let me teams suffer. Coach slot only for now on…
4 new hires I’ll be making soon.
1. An esports community engagement specialist (to help with student engagement in the program)
2. The yin to my yang, an assistant director of esports.
3. Overwatch coach/recruiter
4. Valorant coach/recruiter
👀👀👀👀
What did you do this past year?
37 teams, 221 students lives changed, 4 esports labs, 90 pcs, new prod space, off campus facility in works, program award nominations x4, 9x national champ appearances or wins, academic integration, endemic opportunities for students.
Hbu?
If you didn’t hear yet,
@Fisher_Esports
is the official sponsor to the cod challengers event in Boston, as well as having a bunch of our students work in various roles at this major. Super excited for all the connections they will make!
I was told today a school in New England and NACE consulted my school for how to start up a program
15k part time director, 6 computers and some other miscellaneous not good tactics recommended
Dear consultants, plz stop setting the bar on the ground wasnt ez to pickup ur slack
Now hiring! If you want to be considered please do not DM me or my staff about the role. Just apply and HR will get back to you. Salary is negotiable based on experience. This role will be 60% working with local high schools to help orchestrate growth.
Fisher College is recruiting for ALL game titles.
RL, Ssbu, Fortnite, lol, ow, Val, r6, CSGO, Halo, Cod, hearthstone, chess, madden, fifa and many more. Dm me here or add me on discord. Coach Hummel

Scholarships available- various degree offerings and masters degrees.
funny seeing young adult “directors”trying to fit in with students in a lan discord by trash talking other schools with zero motive. The reason programs aren’t successful is because of the ones in charge just remember that folks. Collegiate needs less gamers and more leaders.
Any programs interested in competing in a 3 week long tourny for 5k prizing in each game please like this I’ll send you signup details. (Reg closes Saturday) halo, overwatch, RL, Val, r6, Cod
I wish I had a marketing team, we competed and finished 1st 2nd 2nd 3rd 1st in separate national championships within this last month, and no one would ever even know… the amount of opportunities my school misses out on to capture the audience is upsetting.
Directors, be nice, stop talking shit about other programs, lead by example. Enough acting like a child in grown ass adult bodies. Keep ur head down and go… just because the way you operate works at ur college doesn’t mean it’s for everyone else. We all trying to figure it out.
What we need this year for competition..
-legitimate grade checks
-legitimate grade checks
-legitimate grade checks
And lastly…

With 100t layoffs to massive layoffs across the industry here’s a bit of positive news for collegiate.
I don’t think anyone’s ever in fear for their job here, it’s a sustainable model where everyone can come out on top, students employees schools etc.
If you want to work in this
Thoughts on crowdfunding CCL? $250 per team, use that 75-120k to stipend previous workers, as well as volunteer student managers.
Knock it out of the park, partner with the CDL teams to turn this into pub sponsored games, bam win win? Thoughts anyone?? Anyone ??
After researching esports degrees for the last 2 years on the viability, the issue I run into is "gainful employment" issues.
32k a year national average in employment the esports industry taking on a 30-40k a year in college debt just doesn't do it for me... Yet.
Stop sending me consulting messages about how you will advance our E-Gamers and e-Sports players marketing tactics. If you can’t spell the industry name the right way why would I pay for services 🙃
Expanded to 80 pcs between 7500 sqft of space for this year + a production room as temporary facilities. Can’t wait for this next big announcement that I’ve been grinding on.
Starting dec 14th 5-7pm est I’ll be hosting my first weekly twitter spaces directors meet up to discuss collegiate/Am hot esports topics, as well as information sessions for all.
It will have 4 directors split 50/50 on each topic as well as open discussion for the community.
I stay in collegiate because I like changing peoples lives. My first priority is getting students to where they want to be in their careers. I’ve got 40+ people on full scholarships to college that never thought they would have a chance to get a degree. And now I’m the bad guy?
New Job alert 🚨 position had been filled but things fell through.
This is for an immediate start, can be flexible on relocation timing.
I’m looking for previous/current directors or professional staff, this is not an entry level role.
Pay- is negotiable and competitive from
So cool that once again we will be Admin/TO of the Boston breach major, helping EE broadcast the chal event, and then doing the Army V Navy showdown game broadcast.
Thanks Boston Breach for the opportunities for my students ♥️
Colleges, going to be hosting a lan this summer in Mass for top RL, league, and Valorant teams.
Would mid June or last week of august be best?
Last week of august could allow for early move in to uni and make travel easier.
Just trying to guage everyone’s opinions to get the
“My whole college career has been Covid” after I asked the class if they have been enjoying the college experience outside of class. That one hit me, these students have it rough these days. I just want to create memorable experiences for them all 😓
Thoughts on beginner level commentating?
I want to bridge that gap for viewers who have no clue what they are watching, especially for collegiate streams. Instead of play by play, explaining why teams are doing certain things and what each objective does for the teams.
@Tashi343i
Can you add a “reset mmr one time payment” so my main can get out of d6/low onyx. My alt is 1800 and I can barely keep onyx on my main. I gain 6 points and lose 10-12 on main. And it’s the opposite for my alt. Thanks :)
I think collegiate leagues like eFuse, NACE, necc, ecac, RSAa etc should get together and bid for certain dates. Having lans on the same day during the summer and winter is just not it for me, we can do better, let’s stop dividing the viewers. Sincerely a director who has fomo.
This year 5 full time esports staff members, 4 academic esports teachers (maybe more) 5 part time coaches and multiple top contenders rosters in every game, new facilities. And some awesome freaking students coming in. Time to take over👌🏻
Nominations 🚨🚨🚨
Some I won't add much explanation to as I believe it's quite obvious.
Program of the year-
Nomination 1-
@NorthwoodEsport
Competitive results top 1-3 in every game in the nation, Academic Support incorporating esports, obtained grant money, has amazing
Our twitch collegiate esports first time talks generated 49 average viewers, 361 unique views, 32 new followers, a great hangover at 915pm and some good conversations.
I can proudly say I’m leaving the
@NACEsports
after today. Starts a national championship 45 mins early with 1 minute notice this is the reason collegiate esports ecosystem continues to stink...
Imagine being in a position of power then slandering your old students and the school they attend on social media. There’s one thing I’ll never do is put down a student, or defame a school they attend. Staff to staff banter is all fun and games until students are put down.
I’m going to start FFing every team who doesn’t show up within the 15 minute mark, idc if some players in lobby if not all it’s an FF, no reschedule requests at all, any toxic behavior is being reported, I’m going to be the alpha Chad Karen.
I think more students receiving opportunities is the goal, find your niche/s and go with it. By expanding games outside of being top 4 in Lol, OW, Rl, Val the “only games that matter” we have positioned student success and opportunity in the other titles and created more DEI
If you're a program that stacks scholarship in games with little to no competition to make a name for yourself as a winning program I do not see you as a competitive program.
Join the top titles and contribute to legitimizing the space instead of pushing your own agenda.
Rest in peace to a great father, grandpa, cousin and friend. You overcame so many obstacles in life and were a big component to my upbringing. Love you Matt💙
The doctors decided it’s best to put my pup down they gave him a year max if we did surgery and it wouldn’t be a good life :/ fly with the stars Alex love you buddy❤️
My dog has a tumor in his neck that traveled down his spine and is affecting all his motor functions he can barely walk. The surgery is 15k to help him and I don’t have that money but I don’t want to put him down 😥 sad day for me
2022 in a wrap
Switched jobs
Created an inclusive powerhouse program.
Made some great friends.
Pissed a lot of people off.
Taught my last college course for the foreseeable future.
Got married to the love of my life.
Created opportunities for underprivileged students 🫡
Normally I root against
@NorthwoodEsport
and
@evolve
but this weekend you have my full support, win it all for America gentlemen!!! You got this 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The one thing I hate about collegiate esports...
Having to be available for meetings from 9-5 then doing practices, tournaments, recruiting etc from 6-2am 🙃
Graduation day, I’m so happy for my 12 seniors walking the stage today.
These students are largely to thank for any successes in my coaching career. Keep up the fantastic work.
Fly high🫡🎓
I think the coolest experience I had all weekend was sitting next to a 14 y/o kid rooting for fisher RL. This kid told me he’s never been to a LAN but had heard Kinseh was going to be there so he really wanted to go because he’s his favorite player on the leaderboard 🥹
A little over 5k to fly my whole league team and staff to a once in a lifetime LAN event is a no brainer, sad to know that some “varsity” programs can’t cover that... stoked for my teams to have this opportunity😁
I think if the league investigated this situation for over 48 hours they are carefully sifting through all documentation.
I don’t need to seek validation by tweeting from a official school twitter begging for responses. I’ll let the TO do their work with all evidence presented.
Huge shoutout to converse staff and players, has been a pleasure getting to know y’all this weekend, hopefully we can take the w home for this side of the bracket !
Kudos to
@clerkie
on a freaking fantastic event.
You may not of seen all the behind the scenes work but this man grinded.
From keeping the women safe, to making sure everything ran smoothly, thank you for showing people how it should and needs to be done.
#STL22
I’ll be hosting a weekly twitter spaces coaches/directors/industry folks panel each week likely on Wednesday’s.
This is intended to cover the weekly trends that people cannot agree on collectively.
Let’s bring back camaraderie, we’re all in this together
SOS I need a company that can fulfill an order of 120 jerseys and get it to me by this Thursday, or to Harrisburg PA by Friday morning.
My jerseys came in so messed up last week :(((
Id love to see CLoL and CVal create some sort of divisional structure.
Bronze/silver
Gold/plat
Diamond/master
Gm/chal
Where schools can field one roster for each division, I think it would be an awesome investment. Could develop more talent and give more students opportunity
So proud of both my league of legends and Overwatch teams. We learned a lot went through some growing pains. We will be back and better than ever soon ❤️ OW finished HUE 3-4th and league of legends 5-8th
