I hate seeing folks so down about their career. Your career is a journey, it ebbs & flows, it speeds up, it slows down. You may take one step back to take two steps forward.
It really isn't as linear as we've been socialized and groomed to believe it is.

Can confirm. I got turned down for a manager role on a team that I was top performer on for YEARS (my boss personally asked me to apply all three times.)I applied out to my literal dream job as a joke to myself and got hired a few weeks before my birthday last year!!!!

Companies are NOT loyal to you even if you are extremely loyal to them. If you are not 100% happy in your current position you should constantly be looking to make your next career move to something more fulfilling. I regret it took me this long to realize this. 🙏

Everyone please listen to this. It's all peaks & valleys and it never stops. Your great job is coming and it'll make you realize you were just in a valley and when the next valley comes you'll be able to ride it out with more grace because the peak is always on its way. purrr'd
