Labour MP. 'I actively campaigned against Corbyn to win the election and was very happy when he lost it.' Same Labour MP. 'It was Corbyn's fault he lost the election and he was unelectable.'
I always thought the Labour antisemitism smear would end in a farce, but I never thought it would be a bunch of white middle class men telling a black woman, who has suffered outrageous levels of racist abuse, that she is in fact the real racist not them.
My Labour CLP, Bristol South, has just voted for a motion in solidarity with
@jeremycorbyn
and demanded that he has the whip immediately reinstated. Will post the texts of the motions tomorrow if permitted.
I remember when the Guardian was publishing 3 editorials a day on antisemitism in the Labour party. It has virtually been totally silent on the
#FordeReport
and when it did report on it, it was misleading. That tells you something doesn't it.
Social media is a strange place, but who'd have thought Billy Bragg would be accusing Alexei Sayle (and other Jewish people, one of whom is a Holocaust survivor) of being an antisemite in a film he hasn't watched on Paul Mason's word.
How bizarre that we know that it is Putin's oligarchs that fund the Tory party, but somehow it is the left that are 'pro-Putin'. This is absurd isn't it?
Are Guardian opinion writers on strike? Labour leader accused of antisemitism by CAA but there doesn't seem to be an editorial or opinion piece in sight.
Persons, I believe, associated with the account
@GnasherJew
, contacted my university yesterday, and attempted to get me sacked by making false accusations of antisemitism. This is the reality of the antisemitism witch-hunt against Labour. Share this, so people know.
Labour manifesto costed at £80 billion. We are told this will lead to the end of the world, and how will it be funded. £100 billion 'Moonshot' nonsense, nobody bats an eyelid. No-one asks 'where will the money come from?'. Ever feel that you are being conned?
#r4today
#Moonshot
Corbyn was held personally responsible for everything that happened in the Labour party right down to every tweet and every Facebook post by every member and voter since the beginning of time. So why shouldn't Starmer be responsible for what happened in his own office?
#Saville
James O'Brien called all Labour members Holocaust deniers. All of them. Why anyone takes him as the voice of reason is beyond me. He blocked me of course.
It is nonsense to say that the furlough scheme is unsustainable. The Government can create as much money as it needs. QE cost over £375 billion and mostly ended up in the hands of the rich. Weird that it is always the workers who are the scroungers isn't it?
#r4today
@GeorgeMonbiot
There are 5 academic peer reviewed papers on the content of the BBC news. Every one concludes that it is biased against the left and Labour in particular (unless of course it was New Labour). There is no research that I know of that concludes the opposite.
'Corbyn promised massive government spending and borrowing'. What the hell is Nick Robinson talking about. The government borrowed £227.6 Billion more to December. The sky did not fall in. The cost of the 2017 manifesto was £48.6 Billion and 2019, £82.9.
#r4today
A Labour MP makes allegations of threats of violence and intimidation in a national right wing newspaper. Claims she cannot attend conference. Presents no evidence of these threats. Nor can anyone find any evidence of these threats. Does that remind you of anything?
I am assuming that after the media furore when Starmer was shouted at in the street that there is going to be full media coverage of the death threat against the Labour MP Zarah Sultana, and Starmer will show his unconditional support for her.
Without Corbyn I wouldn't have joined the Labour party like hundreds of thousands of others. I wouldn't have canvassed for MPs, who despise us, in every kind of weather. He makes it possible for all of us to imagine a different kind world.
#WeSupportCorbyn
It is clear that Labour party are now not going to repeal The Tory Public Order bill that bans peaceful protest. I have no idea why anyone who thinks of themselves as progressive or left wing would vote for them.
We know for a fact that Corbyn was undermined by his own party structure and his MPs. We now also know that he was undermined by YouGov. This doesn't even take into account the media smears and lies. Liberals and centrists? 'He was unelectable'.
Diane Abbott writes a clumsy and badly expressed letter about the structural/institutional hierarchy of racism in UK, where the response to it better explains what the point is than anything she wrote.
I see that now they can't prove Corbyn is an antisemite they are now going for he's an unconscious one. I can guarantee they won't have any credible evidence for that either.
Are Labour's membership figures accurate? Exhibit A. This turned up yesterday. I stopped being a member of the Labour party 2 years ago. Let me remind anyone who follows me. No-one who thinks they are progressive should be a member, campaign, or vote for Starmer's Labour party.
@Keir_Starmer
These are facts about antisemitism in the Labour party. In the first NEC report, 0.06% of Labour members were accused of AS, in the second 0.24%. Of those 0.01% were found to be valid. Moreover if you really believed AS was rife,, what were you doing in the shadow cabinet?
@KateEMcCann
@SamCoatesSky
How is that intimidating? You lot camped outside of Corbyn's house for 4 years and shouted at him every time he opened the door.
@arusbridger
@JewishChron
If you someone had uttered this when Corbyn was leader they would have been labelled an antisemite and their name would have been dragged through the mud for weeks.
This is an Incredible article on the current events in France, which could equally be about the UK. Don't let yourself be ruled by the stupid. Take choices for yourself. Read and share.
The Guardian writes a misleading headline and everyone falls for it. You'd think we'd have learnt by now. No Mike Lynch did not tell you to vote for Starmer.
@YoungLabourUK
These sounds rather Putinesque ironically. We will silence anyone who disagrees with us. I mean their statements was sanctions and diplomacy, which is pretty much the position of everyone.
@BBCPolitics
@bbcnickrobinson
I think what is very odd is the BBC's complicity in the bullying, harassment and thuggery at the heart of the Labour party. Thank God Aljazeera can do actually journalism which the BBC has long given up.
@ta_mills
I've taught in Oxbridge, Russell Group and post 92. In terms of academic quality there wasn't a great difference. Bullshit and overconfidence definitely. Like private schools, elite undergraduate unis are all about social inequality.
Just a reminder that Russia isn't a communist country and does not have the support of some imaginary left you are fantasising about. Lots of rich Russian oligarchs do fund the Tory party however and the City is awash with their money.
@maitlis
@WilliamJHague
Corbyn didn't deny the extent of antisemitism in the Labour party. He said that the scale had been grossly exaggerated by people like you, which is objectively true. It doesn't surprise me that you are still lying about him, however.
Someone phoned my work to falsely accuse me of antisemitism to get me sacked. This was happening to Labour members and supporters throughout the UK between 2015-19 because of the smears and lies. I don't remember Tory MPs and the commentariat being up in arms about it. Do you?
@PhilipPullman
You spent 4 years smearing the alternative and ushering this Tory government into power. Why wasn't this true then. Now that we don't have any real alternative, you are all for it.
@Peston
How is it a war exactly. Gaza is not a country. It has been illegally blockaded by Israel for 16 years. Most of the people who live there have been expelled from their homes and are refugees.
@paulmasonnews
@DominicRaab
People forget that the antisemitism smear against Corbyn began on the Guido Fawkes website and then was taken up by the Telegraph. The rest is history. The difference is that the liberal press will defend Starmer.
@BBCPolitics
I remember when he killed thousands of people through 'eat out to help out'. I also remember he was part of the 2008 financial crash. Funny what it you remember isn't it.
Hey
@BBCr4today
care to explain why you are still reading out newspapers headlines during a general election when they are so clearly biased against one party as Loughborough university research shows?
#r4today
. How is this balanced and impartial?
@SaulStaniforth
The bombing of Dresden was a war crime. We set up international law after WW2 to prevent war crimes. The existence of the Nazis does not justify war crimes today.
@simonmontefiore
@guardian
Your letter is complete absent of any facts. Corbyn has no 'affection for murderous regimes'. There were 2 examples of harassment (both subject to Judicial Review) which Corbyn was not responsible for and happened under the GS Iain McNicol. Someone who you don't appear to blame.
@helensclegel
I am an expert in Jewish philosophy and have studied antisemitism for over 25 years. Not one of these tweets is an example of antisemitism whatsoever. You have my complete solidarity.
That's weird.
@BBCr4today
thinks that Mark Serwotka comments are headline news, but that fact that Tory MEPs voted for an actual anti-Semite isn't.
#r4today
Leaked Labour report shows sources for the
@BBCPanorama
hatchet job on the Labour party were liars, bullies, corrupt and cronies. You'd think it would be a item on
#r4today
, considering their obsession with Labour and A/S. Nothing. Third item on the news? Olives.
#LabourLeaks
@wesstreeting
@PaulWilliamsLAB
Dear God, Wes. I am a Labour member and Labour voter. Face the facts. In 2017, Labour increased the vote in Hartlepool by 16.9% after a downward trend of 16 years. This wasn't a century ago. It was 4 years ago. If you think the lesson from this is just carry on we are doomed.
EHRC report looked at 70 cases. There were only 2 they upheld. Both were subject to judicial review. So now there are zero. I imagine this outcome will be widely reported in the legacy media.
A commission set up by someone who says institutional racism does not exist, chaired by someone who says that intuitional racism does not exist, concludes that institutional racism does not exist.

@paulwaugh

@SamCoatesSky
Yes he did, but it shows the collusion between the CBI and the Tory party. The idea that the CBI is neutral and impartial when it comes to politics is absurd.
That's weird. Tories lose 300 seats, Labour 70, in the local elections, but listening to
@bbccr4today
, you'd think it was the other way around.
#r4today
So I hear that
#r4today
is spinning yesterday as a massive victory for Boris. Let's be clear the first vote, which was a second reading, was pretty meaningless. It's the second vote that was the important one and he lost that.
#BrexitBill
How peculiar. Corbyn loses his whip by telling the truth. The only way that his factional accusers will allow him to regain it is by lying and erasing the truth.
I am constantly reminded that when Labour suggested a modest government spending of £80 billion in 2019, the media acted as though the world were going to fall in. The current Tory deficit is £304.0 billion. Even with the latest budget, it will increase. Complete silence.
"The government seems complacent"
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says he has written a letter to the prime minister asking why advice on coronavirus "is different to that given in almost every other European country"
@lukeakehurst
Corbyn won the vote in every section of the party. Democratically and fairly. You are so unpopular that you have to gerrymander elections. Not quite the argument you think it is.
And in one action Marcus Rashford shows Keir Starmer what a principled opposition can do, as opposed to focus groups and triangulation, and worrying about what Tory voters might think.
Funny isn't it. The furlough scheme for workers, £80 billion, is unaffordable, but no-one bats an eyelid of QE of £300 billion, which goes to the banks and the rich. Ever thought you might be conned?
#r4today
@huwbbc
@BBCNews
I cancelled by licence fee today. I imagine many others will be following. 88% of Tory's ads on facebook were lies. Our public broadcaster did nothing. In fact it actively participated in these lies. The BBC dug its own grave in this election.
Peter Mandelson questions the recommendations of the EHRC report. As far as I can tell that is now tantamount to antisemitism. I assume that Starmer will be suspending him today.
#EHRC
@KarenPollock100
@guardian
As with all the people who have smeared him, you won't be able to come up with any facts, data or evidence to the contrary, even though you've had years to do so.
@paulmasonnews
Corbyn has repeatedly called out the actions of Hamas. What he didn't do was respond to the ridiculous bullying and haranguing of Piers.
