Today we honor LVMPD Sgt. Henry Prendes, who was shot and killed on February 1, 2006, while responding to a domestic violence call. He was 37 years old and had served 14 years on the Department. Sgt. Prendes left behind a wife and two young daughters. Never forget.

Earlier this week, we learned that Police Officer Andrew Craft of the Clark County School District Police Dept. passed away from a medical episode while on duty at Mojave High School. We extend our deepest sympathies to Andrew’s family and his CCSDPD mates. Godspeed, brother.

Today we remember LVMPD Police Officer David Lee VanBuskirk, a member of the Search and Rescue Section, who was killed on this day in 2013 after falling during a nighttime aerial rescue operation of a hiker on Mt. Charleston. He had served with the LVMPD for 13 years.

Today we remember Officer Truong Thai, who was shot and killed on this day in 2022 while responding to a domestic disturbance call. He joined LVMPD on Jan. 25, 1999. He was an experienced patrol officer and spent most of his career in the Northwest and Northeast Area Commands.

On 2/11/24, Las Cruces (NM) Police Officer Jonah Hernandez was killed in the line of duty. While investigating a trespassing call, he was stabbed multiple times by the suspect. Jonah was 35, had been a cop for two years and is survived by his wife, two sons, parents and siblings.

Last week, Gang Enforcement Unit officers conducting proactive policing in @LVMPDNEAC witnessed a woman screaming for help from a passing vehicle. They pursued and stopped the car on US 95, rescuing her from a dangerous situation. Great job by these cops!
