You’re a multimillionaire family and have charged a single mum who is also your cleaner, £250 (a weeks wages) for getting the smallest bit of bleach on two of your towels by mistake.
Nasty individuals.
Cancer patients should not have to miss their appointments on the 19th because the Queen has died.
A missed appointment could be the difference between life and death for some, especially due to the horrific wait times to even get a hospital appointment.
My friend just told me their nephew went to view a 2 bed property in Brixton that was put up this morning. £2250 per month. 29 other people booked a viewing too. The Landlord has said everyone can now bid against each other. The highest bidder will be able to rent the property😳
🚨 UPDATE:
The tweet below has now been seen
1 Million+ times in under 24h
- I’ve been in contact with the tenants MP
-I emailed the CEO stressing I wanted the family rehoused
👉🏽It has been confirmed an hour later by the CEO of L&Q the family will now be permanently rehoused
🚨 An L&Q property in Lewisham, London.
The worst case of Cockroaches I have come across along with other issues. A cockroach infestation so bad the kids and mum say they crawl all over them at night with one crawling into mums ear 👂🏽 only a few days ago.
A thread 🧵 below 👇🏽
Housing Associations are now threatening to sue tenants for speaking out on Social Media. This is the second tenant in 2 days that has reached out to me about their HA writing to them saying they’ll take legal action.
I’m lost for words at how bottom barrel this is 😦
I’ll never forget speaking to a tenant who suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy due to several falls as a result of mice scares. The infestation so bad she found dead mice in her baby milk powder but was ignored.
This stuff really ruins peoples lives.
Tributes to ‘sword lad’?
Who from The Sun thought this was a good idea?
His name is Daniel Anjorin not ‘sword lad’…
Someone tell me they didn’t actually print this …
People will have their own views on Michael Gove but I think it’s fair to give you an idea of what he’d been doing behind the scenes for Housing over the last few months to demonstrate how serious this decision really is by BJ🧵
Just finished watching Partygate on C4. I still find it disgraceful that ordinary people were fined £10,000 - £15,000 in some cases yet those that attended the multiple parties in No.10 were only fined £50 each when they clearly broke every rule going at the time. Not only that,…
At my Dads funeral my grandma in Ghana couldn’t come. She sent a recording saying one of her wishes is she wants to meet me and siblings before she passes, my dad always wanted us to go.
Next week I’m flying to Ghana for the first time ever🇬🇭. She doesn’t know I’m coming ..
🚨 This Morning I met with the Secretary of State for Housing - Michael Gove to discuss Housing and how lives are being put at risk.
After both agreeing things need to change, I will be going back to meet him and his team again to propose and work on how to fix this 🙏🏽
I love Sangita for saying what many are not willing to say
The double standards in the UK against migrants of colour has never been clearer. It cannot be denied

Nobody is worried about ‘coming back to Croydon’. What people are worried about is the support her family is receiving and the fact a young girl woke up this morning, expecting she’d be alive whilst I write this tweet. She isn’t. We want to know why and what will be done about an…

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.
During a cost of living crisis. Private landlords are allowed to make those looking for a home fight like dogs to see who can pay the most rent.
This is the Housing Crisis. Young renters haven’t got a chance in Hell.
Bidding on private rental properties should not be allowed
Can I end this nonsense now. Asylum seekers don’t arrive here and claim benefits or get keys to Social Housing.
They have no recourse to public funds until their asylum application is granted, which often takes years.
They live on about £37 per week.
All us 90s baby’s are really having it hard in our 20’s/30’s
Cost of Living Crisis
Extortionate rental prices
Taxes
Low wages
Student finance bills
More taxes
Covid
I met with the Mayor of London and Deputy Mayor
We discussed the current issue of poor Social/Private Housing in London, the urgent need for improvement, current failings and I raised 15 potential solutions for the current crisis both in London and beyond. Will meet again soon.
Did you know asylum seekers are given just £37 per week to live on?? Just over £5 per day?… They’re expected to buy everything they need with that.
They are not allowed to work either. £5 a day.
What was crazy to me was learning in the U.K, schools are protected with metal fencing around the perimeter whereas in the USA where guns are permitted, schools aren’t protected with any type of fencing or other form of protection 🥴

The absolute state of this country.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the treatment of disabled people by housing providers, including councils is beyond shameful. In many cases I’ve seen, it can only be described as wicked.
Disabled residents of Milford Towers are trapped on the SEVENTH FLOOR without lift access.
✊🏿We took our fight to
@LewishamCouncil
to demand that every resident has as safe place to call home.

🚨 The worst case of Mould and Damp I’ve ever seen. Catalyst Housing Association have allowed this tenant to live in a property with mould eating the walls. Dad constantly vomits during the night and mum/kids have asthma. They’ve complained since 2018. A thread 🧵 👇🏽

🚨Update: 1 hour since my tweet. The tenant has been told a manager is on their way and they’ll be moved out whilst work is completed.
Since Boxing Day they’ve been complaining…. I’ll still be contacting the CEO tonight.
🚨 Another Home, this time a home in Clapham run by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. I met twin sisters who have both suffered. This is the 6th leak in her sons bedroom the latest she told me happened on Boxing Day yet nothing has been done🤦🏽♂️👇🏽🧵

As the year ends, I want to share some good news stories. Here are some of the families I’ve been lucky enough to work with over the last year 🏡
Campaigning really works, and is some of the most rewarding work I will ever do
Thank YOU all for helping change these lives 🫶🏽🧵
Owami Davies is still missing.
The police suggest she could very much be anywhere at the moment.
Can we please ramp up pressure to find her in Local communities and in mainstream media.
Enough isn’t being done at the moment 🤦🏽♂️ treat it as if she is family.

Got sent a video of a London tenant paying £1300 a month with a horrific mouse infestation that they’ve BEEN complaining about.
The video was of a mouse giving birth on her living room floor 🤦🏽♂️
Ravi Govindia leader of Wandsworth Council tried to draw me out in a political debate.
He said ‘Wandsworth has 100% decent homes record’
I think it’s important for him to explain what counts as a “decent home” in Wandsworth.
Let’s test that Ravi 👇🏽 a thread 🧵 …
With over a year of campaigning whilst studying for my final year at University I’m glad to finally have a 2:1 in Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship 🎓👨🏽🎓
Considering I nearly dropped out 3 times, I’m more than happy with this.
I wear comfortable clothes I.E trainers/tracksuits and my tattoos out everywhere I go whether that to the shops or to meet Government officials in Parliament.
if you choose to underestimate my intelligence or ability to contribute towards social change based on my ‘appearance’..
I love this.
Listen to everyone sighing and Booing in the background though 🧏🏽♂️. Big up the protesters. Let me know if you ever do another one mi deyaaaa
Just submitted my last ever University Assignment. Considering I nearly dropped out 4 times since 2017 for various reasons including my dad and taking on Housing, I’m glad I made it.
No more referencing too. I really did that.
🚨Somebody knows something and quite frankly I really don’t think we are talking about

Owami could’ve been any of our family members. 👉🏽I’m calling on those of you with big twitter platforms that follow me to raise awareness👈🏽. Her family need answers.
The housing conditions that some Londoners endure are a disgrace. Every Londoner deserves affordable, safe, and comfortable housing.
Today I visited Waltham Forest to see how our Better Renting training is helping protect renters’ rights and improving housing standards.
